No, but i'm sure one of the peak runners will be able to offer some advice, and welcome along to the forum
Luke Appleyard (Wharfedale)- quick on the dissent
Welcome Wooly
My tip for this race is not to go off too fast it's a big climb that gets really steep near the end. Excellent running round Kinder followed by a mad dash down the fields(wear studs if wet and slow down before the stiles) Watch out for the worst hill it's only 40ft! if that, on the road near the end.
See you there
thanks for the tips lads cant Waite
Hi Wooly
Take it steady, don't get too caught up in what everyone else is doing and above all enjoy it, and whatever you do, DON'T FOLLOW ME - its my first time at KD too, lord only knows where you might end up!
Welcome to the forum
Be Humble. Sit Down.
Hi Wooly - you've picked a great one for your first
main tip, if you haven't already: enter in advance, cos it WILL fill up
oh, and if you're not used to running along the edge of Kinder, be careful over the boulders as it's very easy to trip and injure yourself
Scramble the rock face through the glare of morning sun — to run
Thanks again for the replies hopefully going to get a recce done week before .
You'll love it. It was my first fell race a few years back and it's got a bit of everything. Good advice from IDP about the studs, slowing down before the stiles and that nasty little kick-up on the road just before the finish. Tuck in behind a Pennine on the top for the cunning racing lines and save some gas for the final run-in (longer than you think). Give us a shout when you go by as I'll be supporting my wife who's running (I'll probably be at Kinder Low or Downfall with black and white fluffy dog).
Here is a map arial/pic of the route Duncan posted http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?ie=...684a67e634d7de
Have fun
