Absolutely. One should always haggle before agreeing a price.

    Re: rooney

back to my first point to ian before i was rudely interrupted and sidetracked by roy was that the story about wayne is of no importance because wayne is a just a citizen as anybody else.

mr hague on the other hand is paid by the public to represent them and it is because of this we have a right to know what our politicians are up to. if the story is true then mr hague has to go.

roy, nice of your offer of tea. when and what time do you want us round? looking forward to tasting your home brew. by the way we are vegetarians, can you fit this in? looking forward to meeting you in the flesh, yours john

Wayne Rooney has a contract with Man Utd. He plays football and takes his money, END OF. His contract with his sponsors are the same, He puts his name to some boots and he takes his money.

IF in his contracts he had a clause saying OH Wayne you have to not be a lad, shag about, get drunk etc etc etc, he wouldnt do it. There isnt a contract in the world that says that. Therefore its you and Joe Bloggs that think he is a role model to 8 yr olds. Thats not Wayne Rooneys problem. Its the people that believe it.
He is a paid employee of Man Utd , thats it. Dont think hes any other.
Why is the country messed up ? , because Rooney has shagged about ?

Royalty was doing it 300 years ago.
Lets get realistic here and understand that Wayne Rooney is not a role model. The media have put him in that position. He himself has not. He is a class footballer, If Man Utd want to give him millions and the press want to make him some kind of man that u want an 8 yr old daughter to look up to then thats the press, Man utd and parents. When he makes a mistake dont expect to turn rank and slate him.
AL Im surprised you say the UK is messed up , WHY
If it's not in the contract, then I think that the sponsors will reconsider renewing his contract when it's next up for negotiation, a bit like the Tiger Woods was dropped by many of his sponsors. Perhaps that will ease some of the pressure on the poor misunderstood lad & he can start to grow up or at least accept that he has responsibilities towards his wife & family.

At the risk of diverting the thread again:
I've got 8 gallons of bobek hopped ale on the boil now and I'm doing another 5 gallon brew (Fuggles) next week. So, beer available in late September. Mind you, IanDP drank some the other day and I've not heard from him since.
I'm also hoping to invite my weekly training gang to a farewell do sometime, because we're off somewhere, maybe before Christmas. You'll probably know some, all V60 ( Stuart T of Bingley, Dave T of DPFR, Geoff H of Ilkley, Ben G of Harrogate, GrahamB (especially if he's reading!)) and a somewhat younger Andy H of Holmfirth and Harrogate.
If you're doing Whernside, that's a possible evening. Would need to de-conflict with my wife's diary though. Veggies alright, I've fed all sorts of faiths and cultures.

I pay Mr Hague to be an effective foreign secretary. If he can do this job while cheating on his wife in some sort of gay (but in twin beds) way, then I don't mind.

This whole thing amuses me. If I were gay and a public figure and I didn't want anyone to know about it, the one thing I would absolutely never never never do is book a twin room with the man I was sh@gging. For me, the fact that this is the only evidence pointing towards his gayness seems to suggest that it's a load of rubbish.

Surely any normal, sane person would just get rooms near to each other and then one of them nip to the other's room in the night.

I wonder why people make the point about role models and the fact that Roonie is a poor one - I'd say that a sports superstar being humbled, being found not to be as bulletproof as he clearly thought he was and being made to face up to his own arrogance is a perfect lesson in life for kids. My younger daughter (15) follows super league really closely and considers all footballers wusses anyway but even she realises what a prat Rooney has been. I over heard her talking to two friends the other day and some of the stuff they were coming up with were really quite profound

roy, if you are at whernside i will be there. i would be good to meet you and i am sure we will get on.

i only drink once a week now so i will save myself to some of this fantastic home brew i ve read so much about. don't bother with the veggie stuff, we are no longer vegetarians, i was only joking about that.

i will probably know your gang when i see them, some may even know me.

it seems i will have to get out training now we have a date. this was my favourite race in the nineties until they stopped it. it's good they have brought it back a few years ago.

    see you then

It's an odd business. People in the Forces share hotel rooms all the time, usually same sex, but occasionally not. Often with a friend, but sometimes with a stranger, or with someone you don't like. We also do hot-bedding, where one gets out to work and the one coming off shift climbs in.
The German idea of a twin room used to be one bedframe with 2 single mattresses and duvets in a sort of Morecambe and Wise set-up, they call a double bed, as we know them, a French bed. This will have probably changed in multi-national hotels, but don't be surprised if you end up in one in a B&B.
I reckon Noel's right, Mr Hague would have gone for the 2 room option if he was having a bit on the side.

I only think we have a right to know what politicians are up to if it's something that directly relates to the job they're supposed to be doing.... where or with whom they're playing hide the sausage, as long as it's legal, is no-ones business but their own.
