Hills and Guinness!
I gave up runnning in August 2009 due to various reasons, mostly psychological. Over a year passed with no running, and I put on about four stone. But, after remembering how good it felt just to be out running, I dusted off the trainers and started again.
I started with two and three mile runs. These were hard, but I persevered. Last Sunday, I ran 17 miles for the first time in about two years, and am doing a LDWA event on Saturday. Hang on in there, and don't panic if you're away from the sport from a while. It'll always be there, maybe not at the front of your mind, but it'll be there, just waiting... And don't panic if you weren't as fit as before, it'll come back in good time.
Hope it works out for you.
He's big and he's good.
