But I was thinking, even from Wiggins's point of view, there was an occasion yesterday when he was pretty exposed. Bernie Eisel and EBH were looking after Cavendish. If Cavendish hadn't been a consideration and the whole team was dedicated to Wiggins's effort, he'd have had those two as back-up.

Not saying it's a bad arrangement, and, as I say, I'm not the most experienced here, but it's hard to get your head around why it's been done. Isn't BMC all set up for Evans? The trade off might be a reason, and the idea that Cav will be the focus next year, for example.

Read elsewhere the idea that Wiggins in Yellow could be part of a train for Cavendish on the Champs Elysees... That'd be quite nice!
