I'm up camping at Low Wray on Windemere in a few weeks and was wondering if any of ya can recommend a decent run onto the fells from the campsite ?

Up onto Loughrigg from Clappersgate; Wansfell Pike - up/down the face, or up and around via Troutbeck; Fairfield Horseshoe; through Rydal Park, along the Coffin Trail to Dove Cottage, onto Loughrigg Terrace and up over the top of Loughrigg; the route of the Loughrigg - Silver Howe fell race - loads of scope for different runs.
sure can, i used to live near that spot and worked at the castle for a bit. Claiffe heights are worth a plod through. you can easily get to grizedale and if you want a long route do coniston old man and back via tarn hows. nice mix of trails, fire tracks and fell their for you with plenty of shops/ pubs to feed and quench you. bargain.
let the good times roll.
