    Cannonball Hill Roller Series

I am a Runner turned race organiser, I have just quit my PE teaching job of 13 years to focus on whats important in life. Family, Running and friends and of course setting up my new business !!1

I am organising Road, trail and eventually fell races !!! I am trying to do things a little differently and organisation and fast, accurate results are my forte

My first race is a Hill time trial in Todmorden - very easy to get too by motorway from lakes, preston, blackburn etc !!!

Yes this is on the road but trust me its a hill challenge in every sense of the word - don't dismiss it its god training and there are loads of fell runners from clubs local to me doing it !!! CVFR, Todmorden Harriers, Rossendale !! Stacks of prizes !!

entry on the night - please see website on following link for details series of 3 races first is on 29th May

    Hope to see you there

    Re: Cannonball Hill Roller Ser

    Hi All,

A gentle reminder the first of the Cannonball Hill Rollers is on tomorrow, lets get some fellrunners down there to beat the road runners up and down carr road. :w00t:

I will be there struggling up and hopefully bombing back down the hill.

Would be good to support this new venture, there are sure to be Fell Races coming in the future and hopefully these will be on some new ground.

Yes its a Road run Hill challenge but don't be fooled, this is not your average road race !

Here is the video of last weeks Hill Roller - courtesy of Dwane Dixon from Todmorden Harriers. Small Turn out but as the video shows all had a great time !!
Alex Whittem CVFR is back on form and injury free and ran 1 mile on the road in 7:23 465ft of climbing and hurtled down the mile in an amazing 4:16, it really was amazing to see.

Down Hill Dan Taylor from Tod was closely behind him on both legs

Next race is tomorrow - WEDS 7pm at Wagon and Horses pub, Burnley Road, Todmorden.

Loads of free parking and loads of prizes for a whole host of categorie
    s.

Good challenge for all abilities 1 mile road climb nearly 600ft climbing.

It doesn't matter how long you take the victory is in the completion of the mile.

There is always the view at the top to enjoy before you start again and progress your way down the hill !!

It was a lot of fun guys, lets get some more people out this week to support this new organiser.

I should be there lets see if we can get any real quickies and beat the 4 minute mile. I did 4.22 and my legs were quite achy from Jura 4 days before.

So hope to see lots of you there tomorrow, after all the sun will be shining and the view (from the top) will be awesome.

HILL ROLLER ROAD RELAYS, WEDS 12TH JUNE - £9 PER TEAM :

How fast can you run up and how fast can you hurtle down?
It requires determination and drive to get to the top and free running and guile to maneuver your way down.

The Race uses scanners, timers and barcodes like those you may have seen at your local park run. However, there is no need to print out your bar code as they are provided on the day and returned at the end of the race.

The 3rd race in the series is a relay race where teams of 3 can compete.Teams can comprise of the following runners:Team of 3 Club runners from the same club.Team of 2 club runners from the same club and 1 club runner from a different running club.Team of 3 unattached runners.

    · Teams can be mixed or single sex.· Prizes are awarded for the first 3 teams for club runner, unattached and single sex teams.· Prizes will also be awarded for average age category based on the ages of your 3 runners.

Each runner takes it in turn to run straight up and down with no stopping at the top. When you get to the bottom you tag your partner and the next person in your team runs. The last person in your team must wear the athlete ID given, this allows your teams time to be scanned and recorded.
