So whether its "natural" or not to run on two legs in bare feet is a moot point.
I think I'd have more back problems if I started walking around on all fours then I ever would by running or walking normally!

Hang on plenty of very experienced "barefoot" runners still run in shoes for the majority of the time, and use "barefoot2 as a training tool, rather than the be all and end all.

Seriously don't start on the whole evolution thing. I'll briefly say I think it's a load of cobblers and so do many, many emminant scientists for a whole multitude of reasons and leave it at that.
Ok I know nothing about dogs.
Shaunaneto - i'm sorry but if you re-read this thread you will see a lot of dimissal and assumption. I'm only stating facts here not pointing my finger at anyone.
The 'fact' is that most people seem to have already made up their minds and are blinkered as to what barefooting can bring to the table (I completely understand why)....oh it will be slower/more painful/potentially damaging etc....Look I don't care one jot what other peole do, i'm not interested in converting anyone I was just trying to put across a different point of veiw.
What I have read has convinced me.
Has anyone read either of the books that I named?? I would suggest not

In the same way, from a financial point of view, Usain Bolt is never ever going to run a race barefoot the authors of those barefoot running books are selling their books for money to make money.

Oh and I've probably read Lord of the Rings over 20 times but that doesn't make me believe Middle Earth really exists...... well not much anyway . Gollum mind you was an excellent barefoot runner and Legolas only wore very minimalist elf shoes

Seriously why don't you stop just dismissing whatever I say. It's great to disagree and have a discussion on a topic but that is impossible if you just want to write throw away comments. You clearly aren't interested in learning anything about it so why bother commenting? People asked for studies so I spent a bit of time collecting some links and that's the responce I get?
Have you read anything on the links? I'm guessing you haven't even clicked on them
You don't have to tell me what newspapers are like...but for once they published an article by an expert without putting spin on it.
Your point about making money didn't really make sense but I see the anology you are trying to make and in my eyes it is a spurious one.

As the Daily Wail was at the top, I started at the bottom.

    What Shoe Is Best?
I get this question a lot. The answer is simple; barefoot is best. But in our world of concrete and rusty nails, some protection is often required.
This blog http://www.americaspodiatrist.com/ however, doesn't really seem to provide any serious back up. I mean, it has a certain logical sense. But it's not a published study as far as I can tell.
