vic it makes you wonder which chunk she took
A coroner has criticised dangerous dog laws and called for dog licences to be reintroduced after a 14-year-old girl was savaged to death.
Jade Anderson was attacked by four dogs at the home of a school friend in Atherton, Greater Manchester, in March last year.
Coroner Alan Walsh said the problem was not specific breeds, but the control of dogs in general.
He said he would ask the government to consider the licensing of all dogs.
Mr Walsh was speaking at the conclusion of the inquest into the death of the schoolgirl.
Recording a narrative verdict, he said she died as a consequence of injuries sustained when she was attacked by more than one dog.
Says it all really - my underlining.
Remember this?
I think mr clough that yu r knot taking this subject at all seriously - emphemeral dog indeed! Harrumph!! Such frivolity is typical of that here today gone tomorrow mentality that characterises the mind set of young peple today.
This is much more serious...

I'm sure I've posted this before
The Law says
1. Overview
It’s against the law to let a dog be dangerously out of control anywhere, eg:
in a public place
in a private place (eg a neighbour’s house or garden)
in the owner’s home
The law applies to all dogs.
Some types of dogs are banned.
Out of control
Your dog is considered dangerously out of control if it:
injures someone
makes someone worried that it might injure them
A court could also decide that your dog is dangerously out of control if:
it injures someone’s animal
the owner of the animal thinks they could be injured if they tried to stop your dog attacking their animal
A farmer is allowed to kill your dog if it’s worrying their livestock.

So the principle I apply is: When a dog has made 2 passes at me, snarling and snapping, then on the third pass, on the basis that I can be reasonably worried that it might injure me, I kick it as hard as I posibly can. If the owner thinks that unreasonable then they get the F-word hairdryer treatment. I also quote the law for their consideration.
Otherwise I quite like dogs. Though I never ever forget that they all have the potential to be dangerous, in the genuine sense - not hthe scare someone sense used above. As such I never trust them, especially around my kids.
