We seem to be in danger of getting our collective knickers in a monumental twist over a bit of peel or poo when the biggest contributor to damaging ecosystems (of which we just happen to be a part, natural or otherwise) is us and our carthorse trampling over acres and acres of ground. Maybe we should all learn to levitate.
Or turn gravity down a bit. There's a big deal being made of accidental littering, and the spray painting of a stone (by an RO), on Facebook. But I think the above applies. There will be collateral damage. If we go in the hills, and race in them, to a certain degree it has to be accepted. We will damage them, but as a crumb of comfort, not as much as the glaciers did.
Some strategically pre-applied vaseline greatly reduces the need for paper.....
