I am after recommendations of routes/climbs in the Peak District that would be suitable for training for long races in the Alps?
Any recommendations gratefully received

Climbs:
Sandy Heys on the W of Kinder (12min).
Lose Hill from Hope Road (13min)
Win Hill 3 ways (parkin Clough 13min, from hope Road 15min, from Ladybower)
Crookstone Knoll and Fairbrook (16min) from Snake in Footbridge.
all of these are savagely runnable (though a rock step midway up Sandy Heys always does for me!)
Times are what I can remember me doing in the last year or so. I'm alright so adjust as you see fit.
Routes:
Kinder dozen, Derwent Devil and Kinder Killer all have their own threads in the 'long distance challenges' forum.
Win-Lose-Win is a bit of a classic (though never down it).
Reps of Win Hill and Lose Hill tuned me up nicely earlier in the year.

Anyone able to run up Win Hill via Parkin Clough ( that's the route through the trees in the Bamford Sheepdog Race?) is a far better man than me...!
actually Parkin clough and the bottom of Win Hill from Ladybower aren't that runnable - although I have run every step of both in the past (just not on Sunday when I last went up PC)

Have a look at the Castleton to Hope section of the Long Tour of Bradwell. Maybe do an out and back

LTB routemap here.
Anything up onto Kinder will be decent; the climb out of Bamford to Stanage looks quite good as well.

Another option is Edale - the Nab - Golden Clough - Grindsbrook . . . etc as Nic says anything valley to Kinder is good

The bottom of Urchin Clough up to Fairbrook Naze on Black Ashop Moor is a favourite of mine. You can come from the Kinder side or the A57 near the Snake Inn.
A bit further South in the Peak: Shutlingsloe from Wildboarclough is always good fun. A few reps of that would be a good training session!
