    Passing Clouds - Sunday

A nudge for the Passing Clouds race which is this Sunday (11 June) organised by Congleton Harriers.

A great race in the Staffordshire Moorlands part of the world taking folk over Ramshaw Rocks, the Roaches and Hen Cloud.

Just shy of 16km and 565m of pleasure.

Look forward to seeing folk on the day.

This is a very good race and the run over the Roaches is fantastic. Sadly I'll miss it this year again but I hope it is a success.

Thanks for the heads up, FS. Never done this one before though have done Staffordshire Moorlands Christmas Cracker many times. I might have a bash at this extended jaunt from Tittesworth.

Agree, this is an excellent race; good logistics and facilities at the start/ finish, interesting and challenging route, well marshalled and good humoured.

I'll be there tomorrow for my 7th time.
3 times out of the previous 6 I've placed in the top half of the field(just!) with times +/- 1hr40 and hoping to do as well tomorrow.

Weather looks good, breezy, not too hot, and we may miss any rain.

    On on!

This was my second ever fell race and I just scraped under 1-30..... I remember the first climb up Ramshaw, what seemed like the whole field going past me as I questioned my decision to ever get involved in fell running. Was the first (and by no means the last) time I went off too fast and really suffered in a race. I also recall coming down Hen Cloud like Bambi on ice, my descending hasn't really improved since then....

Would love to have another go and see how I compare.

Thank you to Congleton Harriers for the expert organisation. I really enjoyed the race and left myself plenty of scope for a PB next time (I was dreadfully slow but couldn't have gone any faster). It was nice to get a "Well done Glossop" from Jack Ross on the run in to the finish. He'd only been back for 38 minutes.

Pictures are here for anyone interested. The descent off Hen Cloud was dramatic.
