That's a good point LB. If runs are enjoyable, you can consider the benefits to general well-being. It's not all about improving your race times.

I ran some lovely junk miles this morning. Feeling a little sore in the achilles this week so had a very leisurely jog around the the footpaths and bridalways of North Worcs and South Staffs at Mrs S's pace with the dog. Early mist gave way to some weak winter sun - a most enjoyable run. I like junk miles...

I'm surprised nobody has delved into what bicycle might be involved in non-junk miles...

Personally i'd prefer it not to be a Bianchi in that terrible minty green they only seem to come in.

When I was looking at purchasing my e-bike, I did notice that you can also get Bianchis in a dark frame.

Indeed. I met someone today with a rich dark blue one. Very striking

But it's a bit like one's Ferrari. It's only when you already have two or three in the garage that you consider a colour other than rosso?

I think the reason i've never really done zone 2 miles is because of my repetitive strain injury problems, which worsen with the number of strides taken, not the intensity of the work. The most effective way to get performance out of someone with less than 10mpw in them is, in my experience at least, to teach them leg speed and teach them how to suffer. I could cycle to work every day if i wanted to, and i might give this a try just to see what happens, but it's only 8.5m each way and i might lose my legs on Kirkstall Road.
