Move of Forum to new server

The forum was copied to a test server during August, and testing at that time went OK. It is now time to copy the forum to an FRA-server, to get it off Brett's own server and take over all admin duties from Brett.

Current plan is that it will be migrated during October, and the change should be invisible to forumites. I'll post the exact date here when known, and also a contact email should anything go disastrously wrong.

Cheers, Andy. Please could you post details of the file upload limitations for whatever file extensions? Cheers.

    Hi folks,

I have taken over the Webmaster role from Andy at the FRA AGM.

Just a quick note to mention the forum will be offline Monday 17th October (tomorrow) from 20:00 to Midnight to allow for work. All being well it should be back up and running Tuesday 18th October with no issues.

Any major concerns or issues, you can contact me at [email protected].

    All the best, Jamie

Morning folks, the migration work is complete and you shouldn't see any difference in usability of the forum.

Any issues, please let me know here or email [email protected].

    All the best,

    Jamie

I co-incidentally wrote my marathon report between 2000 and midnight yesterday when the forum was going to be off line. Yes I forgot!
I noticed no difference so obviously a very smooth migration.

    Thanks Jamie

Hi folks, apologies the forum was down earlier this morning due to a slight setting change issue as we try to combat an every increasing amount of annoying spam. All has been fixed and all back up and running. Thanks to those alerting me to the outage and any issues, please always email me : [email protected].
