Anybody got a link to a trail race calender ? I've looked on TRA and trailrunning. co.uk and they are pretty poor sites.
Any ideas ? Or anyone know of any good trail races ?
Thanks RR

The walkers' events are the best trail events in my view. They are generally 20 miles minimum & lots of them support runners. Most of them are on the LDWA challenge events calendar. You can generally tell whether they support runners either explicitly on the LDWA website description, on the event website if there is one, or sometimes just from the entry form, where they sometimes ask you to indicate whether you are a runner or a walker. Most of these events are not formally races & not highly competitive. There are exceptions though that have turned into events mainly for runners, such as the Grindleford Gallop and the Hebden. Nearly all are cracking events.

The Fairy Freckled Cow trail race (4th July) is a good shortish trail race of 11k round the Alwen reservoir in Denbighshire - see www.denbighharriers.com It's got a little hill in it and might count as a CM fell race.
As ZHR mentioned, apart from the 'Trail' races covered by LDWA events or already in the FRA calendar - Lakeland trail series/Ilkley/Westmorland to name just a few, the best bet is the Runners World website calendar although worth checking both 'trail' and 'multiterrain' on there.
Brenda from Bro Dydynni organises an 8 mile race, Sept 19th, Forest tracks, wonderful scenery, near Machynlleth

Hello,
I am pleased to say that the first two events in the series now carry qualifying points (3 in total) for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc.

No doubt the last event will follow when they start excepting 2011 events.
Cheers.
