I believe I recall reading that you can leave kit with the Quartermaster in Ingleton, is this correct?

That is true for transport to Threshfield, should be in your handbook
So given the discussion re kit, is it worthwhile packing the 'kitchen sink' and then sending back what isn't required? i.e. I plan to take a Hope Vision2, but as I don't have a spare battery I plan to throw in a Petzl which I won't take unless it's required.
A myo will pass scrutiny, no spare bulb required but I took my phone with me which has an inbuilt torch and this was allowed as a back up. if not a cheap single aaa plastic torch would get you through I'm sure.
chill out you will all be worn out before the start.
Don't forget the little cutthrough at the start that allows you to lead the race for the first 100m metres or so....;)
It doesn't have to be see through. For some reason I'd made that up. I'll just use dry-bags and hope they've got some sense, I'm sure they have.
For various reasons I may have to drive upon the Saturday morning now, I'll let the organisers know that there's a place at the school up for grabs.
Can I just say, in the spirit of getting my excuses in early, I have an infected toe nail.
Good luck everyone, see you on Saturday:cool:
Best of luck from me too to all doing the Fellsman tomorrow :)
Never mind actually running the fellsman, good luck to me first having to get up at 4 bleeding 30 to drive over to Threshfield, park up and then catch the laid on bus that departs for ingleton at 5:30!. By the time I get to the top of Ingleborough I'll be ready for bed!
All part of a fun filled day and night though. Good luck everyone and here's to a fantastic adventure, without too much pain :)
That's me packed and setting off for Threshfield.
Good luck everyone - see you there, say hello if you spot me.
What am I doing? Yikes!

I didn't forget you off the goodluck post. I thought your ankle was still injured. I hope it holds out.
For the best nights sleep drive up tonight and deposite kit and leave car. taxi to start and b&b you get to have a lie in. get registered then go back to digs for breakfast and toilet before ambling back for start.;)
Yikes is a great word there stef. Just about sums up my feelings in a nutshell :D
I'm with IDP on the accommodation arrangements. That's exactly what I'm doing, though it's difficult finding a B&B that's prepared to grace you with just one measly night's accommodation. See you all tomorrow. I'm off now. The three bus journeys take quite a time.
Weather forecast for Whernside here----> metcheck. Not particularly warm then and windy on the tops, with a little early drizzle to contend with Saturday morning. Looks like it'll be cold after dark for sure.
Cheers for the good luck messages, weather forecast certainly looks interesting reminiscent of my first Fellsman, much better than the heat of last year just the joys of Fleet Moss to look forward to, may be a diversion year.;)
Have a great day everyone see you tommorow morning bright and breezy:)
Cheers everyone. Hope to see a few familiar faces tomorrow and make some new acquaintances. Suffering a little with a gut strain from last weekend's Coniston fell race but will bash on to the bitter sweet end.
Good luck to all!:)

All the best Merry, Stolly, BritNick and anyone else who's doing this. Hope the wind and rain die down for you. :)
Good luck to everyone running the Fellsman this weekend, it's an awesome challenge. Hope the weather is kind to you.

P.S Merry - I wouldn't mind some training tips as I'd love to do this one next year.
Filter tips if its merrylegs :) ;)
Any news?????
18 hours 10 and now a humdinger of a John Wayne walk. I've had two hours sleep and now have to take my daughter to a rugby tournament in Leeds :). More news later.
Oh a nuts duly frozen off in a horizontal rain and hail storm whist crossing over Blea Moor, the most exposed moor in Christendom.
Well done Stolly and a bloody good effort to all who took part, conditions must of been testing to say the least !
Good work Stolly  Looking forward to an epic adventures report ;)
Well done Stolly... back next year?:)

As far as I can remember anyway ,my brain is as numb as the rest of my body . At least the rain only lasted an hour or two then it turned into a bright ,breezy day .
Many thanks to all the helpers and checkpoint staff
