I've just been outside with my oldest most comfortable inov-8's and a tube of super glue to put them back together.
Wonder which will give up first, me or the shoes?

Good luck everybody.
Good luck everyone. Hope you have today's weather.
Nice and sunny with a strong wind to keep you cool!
I'm all set...
Good luck to all for tomorrow's race.
I pulled a hamstring and had to give up the chance of running (2nd year running this has happened to me). I have not even logged on here for about 3 weeks I am so peed off
Enjoy the race tomorrow, conditions look good.
Yep good luck all (though no doubt you are all tucked up in bed by now).
Not quite yet!!
Just having a quick coffee and getting my kit together. Wondering are the organisers still going to insist on full waterproofs today? Compulsory suntan cream may be more appropriate.
Good luck everyone for today's race. It's looking warm out there.
It's looking a bit cold and windy in Bacup!
See you there everyone. :)
GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!!!
Have Fun!!!

How did the forumites do this morning :D
Perfect weather today, prefer that to last month's horizontal hailstones at Edale.
Was pleased to take 16 mins off last year's time and get under 3:30. Unable to attempt fastest descent off Ingleborough because of cramp setting in! That accolade could go to highest placed debutant Mr Bolland with 29 minutes, well done. I think I will sponsor a new trophy for that.
Weren't there 3 to count for men's open team last year, but 4 this year?
I hope our foreign brethren won't mind getting their feet wet next year.
Many top performances and PBs set today, well done everyone.
3:56 for me had a bit of a mare up inglebugger when on for about 3:45 felt like I was going to die. 119th place and only 3 minutes slower than what I was aiming for so can't complain really. Not bad for a first ever attempt.
Was aiming for a PB:
Slightly slower up Penyghent than I had bargained for then pulled back the time by Ribblehead and then got further and further ahead of schedule to finish in 4:26, beating my PB by a massive 28mins!! :D
The weather really didn't suit us big blokes :o the run across to Ribblehead just seemed to suck energy out of me.
Hope everyone else did as well as they hoped.
4:49 for me. Very pleased with that and don't feel too bad (yet), I think the Ann Waltz was good preparation.
Good to meet a few more forumites - Brett, Manhar and FITC. Think I spotted Moo too.
Like last year, another epic battle with the demon cramp - despite taking all available precautions (tonic water, isotonic drinks, ibuprofen, tiger balm, prayers) got struck down with it up whernside and then it was tough all the way back. Still absolutely delighted to knock 4 minutes off last year's time and got round in 3-34.
Had a text from Daleside, i'll let her tell you all about it later (including her time) but lets just say she's 'absolutely amazed!!' :D
Interesting to read about everyone else's battles with cramp. It hit me on the climb up Ingleborough, and I suffered with it on and off to the finish. This was the first time on this race for me, and I was pleased to finish in 4:08, four minutes inside my target.
Upset and distraught
Didn't see JJ at all, and I really did look for that whip.
Met a few other forumites
Manhar
SlipperStones
Marvin
Denzil
Hot dog With his bell
Also ran
I did look for others but they must have been in front.
Too fast again up Penyghen
Suffered up Whernside when every man and his dog went passed.
Got to Hill inn where my feet were patched up by the Paramedics Thanks guys:D
From there I got a new lease of life running most of the way up.
From the top I thought my legs felt good but every time i let them go CRAMP!
I still passed about 20 on the descent though.
Quite happy with my time
Approx 40 mins better than my previous best
4.30.12:D
Big thanks to the hundreds of Marshals-MR-Supporters etc
It will make an excellent World Champs next year
How did the young lad get on who was about 5th on top of Wherenside. I reckon Scoffer got him on the run in, but he looked good. 18 years old I think.
Was really interested to hear about other people suffering with cramp.
I thought it was just me, only been fell running 6 months and not done any AL races, I was in a terrible state going up Whernside and again coming off Ingleborough, but then it was my first attempt, so can't complain.
3hrs 55mins
Didn't manage to get under 5hr and was a midge slower than last year at 5:05:43. Prepared well, no blisters, used lashings of ibuprofen gel to hold the cramps at bay. Don't know what went wrong (but hit wall with 4 miles to go). Lost contact lens at top of Ing which made that uneven descent interesting, but I don't think it cost me that much.
Results I heard, if I remember correctly, were:
Moo 4:23
Huwski 4:06
Dennis Lucas MV60 4:31
Manhar 4:55
John from Radcliffe just over 5hr I think.
Roger Rabit kindly introduced me to the delectable JJ and Chris
Bloody hell, I'm feeling sore. Bit too fast off PyG, but jogged slowly to Ribblehead, only to get the demon cramp on Whernside. I then came to a grinding halt on top off Inglebugger, and I was watching my Calves spasm (a strange sensation, that). I've never had cramp on the 3Ps before, and hardly ever get it, so it must have something to do with the weather.
Huwski had a brilliant run, claiming he was after 4.30 (yeah, right), he came flying off Whernside singing Rod Stewart or Sound of Music or something. Brett finished and mistook the first aid tent for the beer tent, and refused to move until somebody gave him a beer.
All in all, a good day, but I'm buggered if I'm doing it again.:(
Well, I was a lot slower than I'd expected finishing in 5:02. Don't really know why but it must have been to do with my unfortunate recent bodily experiences. Thoroughly enjoyed it (retrospectively) but very disapointed not to have met any forumites. We really must work on some kind of standard ID. Quite a few people I was hoping to meet today :(
Slowly getting over today's run.
Thank you to the organisers & marshalls for a well run event.
Really pleased for Daleside in achieving a tremendous time for a 1st effort - she came jogging past just after the Hill inn & "encouraged" me to start moving - there's me thinking "I'll have a leisurely stroll up Ingleborough" so from that point tried to put my foot down - really went for it off the top of Ing' and despite taking a couple of tumble's knocked 6 mins of last years time.
Good to see so many forumites and to meet for the 1st time Feet in the Cowclaps, Denzil, Slowcoach and Hot dog - especially Hot dog.
Was touched by that tremendous cheer that I got in the finishing field from all the spectators - don't know where that superhuman sprint finish came from.
