How did the young lad get on who was about 5th on top of Wherenside. I reckon Scoffer got him on the run in, but he looked good. 18 years old I think.

Simon Barnby I think and he finished 7th - what an awesome talent - is he only 18? . Cross country lessons at his school must be tough

    Re: three peaks

Was really interested to hear about other people suffering with cramp.
I thought it was just me, only been fell running 6 months and not done any AL races, I was in a terrible state going up Whernside and again coming off Ingleborough, but then it was my first attempt, so can't complain.

    3hrs 55mins

At last! someone else with cramp on Whernside - thought it was only me. Dunno why this race brings it on sooo bad - recently did 37 mile Calderdale Hike and Wasdale last year and no problems at all. Whernside's only 13 miles in and it started then

MarkR told me he suffered with cramp on Whernside (as well as Ingleborough) I think he finished in 3:40.

Didn't manage to get under 5hr and was a midge slower than last year at 5:05:43. Prepared well, no blisters, used lashings of ibuprofen gel to hold the cramps at bay. Don't know what went wrong (but hit wall with 4 miles to go). Lost contact lens at top of Ing which made that uneven descent interesting, but I don't think it cost me that much.

Results I heard, if I remember correctly, were:

    Moo 4:23
    Huwski 4:06
    Dennis Lucas MV60 4:31
    Manhar 4:55
John from Radcliffe just over 5hr I think.

Roger Rabit kindly introduced me to the delectable JJ and Chris

    Re: three peaks

Bloody hell, I'm feeling sore. Bit too fast off PyG, but jogged slowly to Ribblehead, only to get the demon cramp on Whernside. I then came to a grinding halt on top off Inglebugger, and I was watching my Calves spasm (a strange sensation, that). I've never had cramp on the 3Ps before, and hardly ever get it, so it must have something to do with the weather.

Huwski had a brilliant run, claiming he was after 4.30 (yeah, right), he came flying off Whernside singing Rod Stewart or Sound of Music or something. Brett finished and mistook the first aid tent for the beer tent, and refused to move until somebody gave him a beer.

All in all, a good day, but I'm buggered if I'm doing it again.

Didn't see JJ at all, and I really did look for that whip.
I was there at the Crown wearing my lovely orange vest!!

I was cracking the whip again at Ribblehead.

I had a lovely day out. Great to see lots of you lot again.

Was very pleased to have met Brummy John at last.

Well, I was a lot slower than I'd expected finishing in 5:02. Don't really know why but it must have been to do with my unfortunate recent bodily experiences. Thoroughly enjoyed it (retrospectively) but very disapointed not to have met any forumites. We really must work on some kind of standard ID. Quite a few people I was hoping to meet today

    Thumbs up Re: three peaks

    Slowly getting over today's run.

Thank you to the organisers & marshalls for a well run event.

Really pleased for Daleside in achieving a tremendous time for a 1st effort - she came jogging past just after the Hill inn & "encouraged" me to start moving - there's me thinking "I'll have a leisurely stroll up Ingleborough" so from that point tried to put my foot down - really went for it off the top of Ing' and despite taking a couple of tumble's knocked 6 mins of last years time.

Good to see so many forumites and to meet for the 1st time Feet in the Cowclaps, Denzil, Slowcoach and Hot dog - especially Hot dog.

Was touched by that tremendous cheer that I got in the finishing field from all the spectators - don't know where that superhuman sprint finish came from.
