All the best. Now get off and get some Recce's done and lets not have any more mention of a map or route;)
Thank you i will. I find myself duly admonished and humbly beg for mercy for upsetting the fellrunning gods with my naive incompetence. Seriuosly only reason i asked is that i had heard there were pre laminated and pre marked maps for some races this being one of them and i think they were only 3 quid As i say no bother i will do it the normal way.
The map is good but its not all that necessary. I only learnt about one minor short cut from it. It's not a particularly complicated route, there is lots of scope for time saving dodges but if you're doing lots of reccying you'll discover these anyway.
The forum did a reccy last year and there were loads of time saving advice there.
BTW the lakes runner map isn't laminated. I think they get them back in stock each year nearer the time.
the only bit that really needs a recce is Mam Nick to finish. The first bit is an obvious path and there will be plenty to follow unless you can get in front!!
Recce'd the first bit yesterday which probably wasn't the wisest thing to do after Passing Clouds on Sunday. The only thing I'm in two minds about is which route to take up Lose Hill. A few more recce's and that'll be sorted.Quote:

Mam Nick to the finish is a big black hole for me though. I think I'll be trying that at various different points between now and March
