Go and recce the course and see what you think, thats the best way.

I'm happy enough to deal with the weather, and hopefully the course, was more wondering if I'd get an entry.

How much experience is needed for this race? I've been running, biking and walking in the area for years, but barely done any races.... would that be enough?

If you give Andy some information on long solo trips you have done etc that would help.

Just been looking for route maps for this and found a link on the DPFR website to racemaps, it's from 2007 is it still the same route, is it any good, has anyone got any better suggestions, am I worrying too much?

It's Nobthrob that's done the Edale map. The link is here but there may not be any in stock yet?

Interesting to see that last year the thread started as entries opened and that was in the January - this time it's 4 months earlier

Its a good map Tom and as far as we know its the same route (who knows it might change between now and MARCH). I seem to have lost mine so I can't check, but I remember it being very useful for the reccying. I suspect that to get the best lines on this race you need to join the forum reccy in the winter though
