High Peak Marathon

Just back from a bike ride over to Edale. There were some very big grins - everyone seemed to have had a great time. Perfect conditions, and apparently some new records set.

Further news that first two broke the record. both under 8 hours. new Ladies Record from Carnethy.

Yes, a great run from Carnethy Ladies and it would have been an even faster time if had they not made a bit of a nav mistake.

I believe that Matt The Brum (on his return to the long stuff) and his team mates, took the win in a new course record of 7:51.

Mixed record
Vets Record?
The third and forth teams could have won it with those times in previous years. Condotions were obviously very good for fast times. These records may stand for quite a while..
What happened to the Rollerbladers Grouse? and to Avon Mountain team?

Fantastic trot out but crikey the ground was rock hard with the frost - my feet felt battered at the end. Well done the High Peak Scuttlers though finishing in 11 hrs 19
