    Re: High Peak Marathon

I'm out now. no point risking a long trip out in the middle of the night in winter with no training and a dodgy ticker reserve already inplace before I'm inundated with requests.

Out last night near cut throat and there was a a group justs setting off for a reccie about 7.15 was it you.
This morning went for a walk up abbey brook and saw another group of 3 passing wet stones at about 10.30

    Either of them forumite teams?

Some good team names but also some good teams.

Hard to see who will mix up the top 3....next 4 will be in the top 10 but where?

Top tip watch out for a new ladies record this year.....possibly might even push in to the top 3!!!!!!!

Well done to team "no sheep till Buxton", getting a Macc lads song title in there is outstanding!

    Good luck one and all

Ian hopefully things will frost up a bit - the snow was really unreliable for running on, sometimes fully supporting your weight and other times not at all, often resulting in knee deep shuffling. All the gullies between the groughs were snow drifty and even my (less than perfect I'm sure) attempt at finding the north west passage off of Bleaklow wasn't that runnable due to snow. The worst bit ironically though was the Pennine Way from Bleaklow Head - the snicket that the PW follows was chocka with snow. If it doesn't get colder it needs to get warmer and melt it all
