Found this in Morrisons today:
"Mug Shot" creamy cheese pasta snack. Put in mug, add boiling water, stand 5 minutes (so no further cooking and wasting gas). Dry weight 68gr, 300cals :D. Looks a very promising 'hot drink' as a starter. Other spicy flavours available but not so nutritious.
Looks like he did! Well done Simon.

He's walking & smiling, no effort in that :p :p.
The Mug Shot sounds like a candidate.
I found that I simply could not face porridge yesterday morning on the RAB. I set off having had no breakfast - not something I would normally do as Splatcher knows.
I think I will take either cous cous or noodles for the OMM Sun morning breakfast.
Maybe - gulp - I have simply got fed up of porridge.
Still not convinced about the dodgy custard pies though.
Porridge needs a big spoonfull of honey.
I eat the instant sachet 'porridge with syrup', which is quick easy and has the sugar boost first thing. 2 sachets per person.
Had one of the 'mug shots' at weekend, a spicy flavour one (can't remember what) and actually very good - in terms of easy to get down and palatable. I think they will definately replace my instant noodles on occasion.
Missus and I are now official 'helpers' on the OMM. Hope we get a good remote checkpoint somewhere - bacon sarnie anyone .......:p
Thats no smile, thats a rictus of pain. And I wasn't walking, I was merely employing Ruddles Rule!:p The mistake I made was not to Ruddles Rule it from the start. Expended WAY too much energy in the first half of the race and fell back from 34th to 59th on the trudge up Pen Y Gadair. Thought I'd never get to the top of the effin thing! Thats when the pack really makes its presence felt. BUT I was quite pleased. Managed to get the entire kit to 6kg and it slowed me by 45 mins compared to last years time.
It was a real mind of matter issue to finish, specially when I saw Falling Stone in bits at the second Grwyne crossing...Mind won!:)
I caught you up on Pen-y-Gadair last year and that means something, as I am SLOW!!! It really seems to get at you, that hill...
I always employ Ruddles Rule on long distance stuff... But may I point out to you that where you are, it is no longer an uphill struggle? More or less undulating downhill to Bal Mawr ;)
