Hi all. After all this bloody recceing and training, yes you guessed it i`m injured and to make thing worse the family have given me there lurgey. So a space is going begging. From a very dissapointed Mark Bartley no 114. Hope this gets used up and find the relevant organisers. Have a good race.
NOOOOOOOOO! Mark, I'm really sorry to hear that.
See you for a club run soon.
From where it says so it should be a warmer wind but who knows?
Sorry to hear that Mark, Andy will take you off the list. Hope you have a quick recovery.
First time I did Tanky's I virtually crawled in to the pub. My legs were totally shot.
Anyone seen the weather out today? :p
Plumbum - any more advice re kit requirements for Sunday? Aside from thermals & full waterproof cover that is.
Going to look at weather forecast later today, I can only say be sensible and safe.
If its forecast to be wet and claggy a waterproof cag is essential.
Got to think if you went down for any reason, how long would you last.
Rescue team will be out but would still take an amount of time to find you.
I always carry to much, can't stand the potential embarrassment if I needed the team to carry me off and not having enough kit.
I will be carrying full body cover, waterproof cag and windproof leggings, a decent Lowe Alpine hat, merkalon gloves but a pair of waterproof gloves in my pack and a light weight fleece plus map and compass suitable to navigate the course, others just have relevant bearings, which is OK unless you go wrong somewhere, like the year I ended up dropping out of the clag and seeing Dove Stones reservoir complex . That was when we went round Dean Head and not over Black Hill (as if thats an excuse for ending up at Dovies) :o.
I did finish the race though.
Look on here tomorrow for compulsory kit.
I've stached a drink and some gels but they may have froze up by now. Are you really going to follow me, I'd have thought you had an outside chance of winning this;) Matt H and Gavin will also be there abouts so perhaps you should be following them, They were showing me their route last night and it is completly different from any route I've know of. just wish i had time to check it out, oh well may be next year :(
Looking at the weather forecast till Sunday it has sunny periods, some rain and temps above freezing - fair to say we're looking at heavy going!! lots of water run off round Crowden etc today:eek:
Weather
continues this way with little chance of rain:D, gentle westerly:D and little cloud:eek: on Sunday, How will I hide over Bleaklow:mad:
www.mwis.org.uk , looks like the weather is going to be fantastic :) , the forecast underfoot however :D
Where's registration? - sorry, I know it's here somewhere but I can't find it.
