Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
There were quite a few to be updated!
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Although I no longer participate in the chart I'm now weighing in at 11 stone 8 (no idea what that is in kilo-gese) which is the better part of 2 stones less than I was weighing a couple or three years ago. I've put my miraculous weight loss down to eating a bit less, drinking a bit less and running more. I'm surprised nobody's written a million selling diet book using the 'stolly plan' yet :)
That said while running the pembrokeshire costal path with Hes in the past couple of weeks, we pretty much had to stuff our faces with cake each and every day just to keep going... and I still lost a couple of pounds doing it!

Taking the focus off the weight training?

Yeah it's just a bit difficult to fit in a regular programme with other responsibilities that I've got. I've tried to do it, and been kidding myself. It's been annoying and taken me some time to realise I just can't do it at the moment. My recent time away from the weights has caused me to drop in strength and size, yet put on around the waist as I ain't been doing anything.
So the new plan is to enjoy the summer outdoors get plenty of running in and drop some timber from the waist. Then come winter hopefully my schedule will have eased off and then I can get back on the weights, and not have to worry about gaining a bit of fat from the extra calories I'll be eating a day.

I enjoyed this post as it uses words (like stone) that I can understand. Envy you the P coastal path. Had a similar experience when long distance walking in France - ate tons of cheese & chocolate but still was always hungry and gained no weight.

Haha me too. I feel that I've been ostracised because of my inability to comprehend weight in kilograms :)

That's daft, for weeks now the decision to use one unit of measure has been reversed.

Sorry DrPB, no complaint intended although going from the chart there doesn't seem to be an influx of imperials :)

Okay DrPB can you try and insert me back into the chart, albeit on a pounds rather than kilos basis? I was 167 pounds at the start of the year and was at that time aiming for 161 pounds. My new target now though ought to be 160 as I'm now down to 162 pounds.
Failing that I will begrudging accept the kilo equivalents of 75.9kg starting weight and a 72.7kg target, weighing in at 73.6 at the mo even though I have to translate that into pounds to understand it :)

-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
if weigh-in had been Saturday morning, I'd've been a disappointing 12'10
if weigh-in had been Sunday morning, I'd've been a svelte 12'2 :w00t:
however, I don't think the Ennerdale Horseshoe Plan is going to catch on a a route to weight loss... ;)

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Hi Pat put on a bag of sweets 100g so in this week at 76.8kg
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Hi Pat,
I stuck for the last number of weeks... After hitting 78.3 three weeks ago I'm at 78.4 for the last two weeks.. The wheels have came of the wagon - but at least weight is not rising. Hopefully the five mile jaunt up and down Scarr tonight might spur me on (reminder to self: "do not eat chips/nuts/crap in pub afterwards")
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
80.9 for me
I've also undergone an identity change again so could you amend that on the table please.

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
after dipping under my target weight temporarily over the weekend, I have spent the last 3 days pigging out, and have put 5 lbs back on, and am thus miraculously "unchanged"!

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Went up quite a bit in the weeks following the Fellsman but back down to 81.4 now.
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
It's been a bit awkward balancing food-intake against requirements since getting injured in January (despite still riding the bike)
I've tried to be 'good', & hovered a couple of pounds within my 'race-weight'
Got on the sacles tonight after running home from work (1st time snce Jan), and after a shower & registered 9st 13Ib in my undies

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Good Day Pat logging on at 76kg good two weeks training and two hard races and kept off the sweets
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Is it weigh in day today? In that case I'll start playing again - 80.5kg I was down below 80kg last week but that was probably due to a stomach bug clear out!
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Yes I am putting the next weight in date at the bottom of the table
I am going to have to be honest with myself and say 72Kg. I have slipped a Kg.
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
forgot to weigh myself yesterday
surprised this morning to find I am down slightly at 80kg
was expecting to be significantly up, as I have let myself go since my main batch of target races culminated at Welsh 1000m a couple of weeks ago, so I was going to withdraw from this thread, but think I'll keep monitoring right through to Bullock Smithy at start of September...

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Hi Pat,
I think I missed the last one or two weight-ins:
My previous recorded was 78.7. (May 23th)
Update:
30/05 - 78.4
06/06 - 78.4
13/06 - 77.6
20/06 - 77.1
27/06 - 76.6
76.6 in 'old' money is 12' 1".. Oh so close to sub 12 stone. I think I was in nappies last time I was that low ;)
