Darling SS,
Pheasants indeed!! I've told you before ''BOTH hands on the WHEEL'', wait 'until you get home;)
Please get well soon, I may need that hand. At least now you don't have to drive a Vauxhall anymore.
Big hugs
xxx
Well, they've told me I need to keep the fingers wiggling if that'd be of any use?;)
Unfortunately I do: I'm not high enough up the food chain to have a free choice. I have to pick from a list of GM cars so:Quote:

Chevrolet? Er, no. Thanks.
Saab? Would love a 93 Sportwagon, but to maintain Saab as their 'premium brand' they don't discount them. (which means on top of company's contribution, I'll end up paying another £300 quid on top)
Which leaves me with Vauxhall, where I can get a fully specced car worth £25k for the equivalent of £16k, and not have to dip too far into my own pocket.
And I'm stuck now with having to get an Insignia hatchback (got a dog you see), which I'm not too keen on as it looks like a cheap Korean car from the back. Though the new estate doesn't look too bad.
Bit stiff and sore this morning?
Fair point re company car.
Keep wiggling those fingers:)
so soft lad, how you going with rebuiding the dry stone wall??
Being a southernsoftie, my fair hands have never touched anything like this, and obviously I lack the manly practical skills that would allow me to put it back together, fop and dandy that I am.
You raise a good point though...anyone know how this will get fixed? I presume the Police would get in touch with landowner who would then - through the police incident number and my reg number - get my insurance company to sort it out? Anyone know if I need to do anything to help put it right?
the local farmer more than likeley would do it himself, failing that, i'm sure you will hear from them if he needs to get someone in to do it, why not contact him, ask if they can put a stile in while they are at it:D
I've knacked my bloody left hamstring today, was going for 10 K in 45mins with my mate, but had to slow right down:mad:. I' panicking as i'm doing the black mountains saturday, oh well, lots of pain killers:rolleyes:
Just booked 10 sessions with the physio for massage (buy 5 get 5 free). Just been in with what I thought was an achilles niggle but it is where the achilles meets the soleus which is the muscle I had trouble with 6 or 7 weeks ago. Plenty of rubbing and a change to my stretch routine and hopefully it will bugger off.
Think I might have torn my calf on tonight's run on Ilkley Moor :( K&C legend Pet Shop Pete walked me down to Bar T'tat and I applied half-gallon of Acorn Porter as initial treatment. Sat feeling folorn at home with big bag of frozen peas on it now :( Fellsman seems a distant dream........
You'll be reet by then mate, i have a real piggin cold, shivers, aches, cough and sh!t, if someone told me to run a mile right now, i'd nose-end them;)
But i've dragged myself to work on the bike, (threw up going up hill out of Ripponden) done an 8 hour shift with a bunch of bickering pillocks, and i'll do it all again tomorrow, sending strength of mind vibes to you matey:)
Bad luck DT. You weren't at the Dick Hudson's race were you? I didn't spot you.
Calf is still hellish tight and sore :( Arranged to see physio this evening
I've been in a bit of pain today pulled/strained Tensor fasciae latae I think (muscle from top of Femur to Iliac crest) whilst racing the rain on a steep descent yesterday. didn't start hurting though til late last night. Had ice on it today, hopefully it's just a minor injury.
first day of my holidays looking forward to a weekend in snowdonia followed by a week in the lake district, on top the glyders leaning at 45 in the strongest wind i've ever experienced went down on my ankle on the flattest most innocuous bit of grass on the whole walk. after a two hour hobble and 800 mg of iboprufen to get of the mountain, a very slow drive to bangor hospital to get the bad news i have broken my ankle.thankfully green flag got me home with my car and tent. now in bed feeling very sorry for myself:(
Well, I went to the physio. yesterday (pelvis very wonky and a sore quad).
Great effect on the above, but now have a very angry ITB.........I soooo want to run tomorrow too.
Will it miraculously heal itself as quickly as it came?
The previous posts on this thread would suggest..........NOT!
Bummer.
Bad news Chugger. Wish I could say it will go quickly, but (painful, frustrating) experience tells me it won't.
Rest up and combine with some of the exercises/stretches that the many of us ITB sufferes have been banging on about. Might be interesting to talk to the physio again. Do you think it was a direct result of their efforts?
A bad case of Fell Ponies' nipple  What do those people at Ron Hill use to make their vest out of? Wire-wool? Kevlar?? :(
so after being sort of injured for 2 years with a stress fracture of shin then a torn calf i thought i had built myself up to some sort of reasonable fitness - turned up to a race at the weekend and turned my ankle within the first 100m! arh well - what harm can i do running on a sprained ankle????
Got stung by a flying article just below my right eye yesterday while cycling along the canal bank.
I now have an allergic reaction to the sting and it looks like I have done 10 rounds with a heavy weight boxer.
Treatment so far:-
Antihistamine tablets
Anti-inflammatory tablets
Anti-septic eye gel
Iced the area every hour
and the swelling is getting worse.
PS Off to Turkey tomorrow:eek:
"Flying Article" that made me giggle:D
Have a good holiday mate;)
Twisted my ankle up at the 12 Apostles on Ilkley Moor last night; a long way home.
That's 3 sprains in just over 2 months.:(
By the time it's not too painful for off-road running again, I'll be off in France (the Tussockmaiden's wedding) so it's goodbye to the fells until September. At least it should give time to rebuild some ankle strength...wonder if I could squeeze a wobbleboard into my suitcase?
