nothing all week becuase i cant be arsed, going to try and get out on the bike if it's dry tommorow if not then i shall run
Can't be arsed is actually a serious medical condition that Fellrunner's, especially, are prone too. I'm told that sheep are known to carry the 'can't be arsed' virus in their fleeces, somewhere around the rear end:eek:
I have never been unfortunate enough to suffer this condition as i've never seen a sheep that resembles Charlize Theron. However, as i continue to up my mileage and become more fatigued, my mind will play tricks on me, so, in closing, any sheep that bear a passing resemblance to Ms. Theron should be worried, ewe could be next for a knee trembler;):D
Just an easy 3.4 miles this afternoon with a marathon coming up on Sunday, oh and a mile race tomorrow.
A short 3 miler on the treadmill at lunch time. Been a low miles couple of weeks hopefully now be able to pick it up again.
an hour or so just bimbling around on the moors, what a lovley day
An hour or so just bimbling around on Danefield and Otley Chevin. What a lovely day:D
Underfoot conditions were mostly a mix of snow mud and ice with a couple of particularly treachorous sections.
Just 4.82 miles today.
Including two mile races, first pacing in 7-14 and second racing / pacing 5-55.
6 miles on Bowland fells early afternoon. Fell foot to saddle end farm over fields then up saddle fell to true summit Fairsnape over to paddys pole and back via parlick. Still plenty of snow left on top of saddle fell and eastern half of fairsnape. Hard going in places when breaking thro the hard crusty snow. Some interesting snow ridges formed between some of the bigger peat hags, luckly these were hard enough to walk over and not sink in. Beautiful afternoon crystal blue sky directly above, both sun and moon visible at same time. Ingleborough looked alpine in the distance. Short sortie to save myself for club handicap run over great hill, however just found out it is cancelled due to loads of sheet ice in woods. So i will be back to bowland tommorrow:D, might bump into No6 again
Back on Bowland this morning, slow 7 miles. Again hard work in places, found some really firm snow think this is great then sink up to my knees-still good work out thou. Found some gullies NE side of fairsnape- wishing I had my skis just about enough to ski on. Just had a bit of a circular tour of fairsnape, including paddys pole-webster meadow and saddle fell-out and back via parlick.
6.5 miles from home, still icy in parts especially on the two short sections of towpath. First run ever with MP3 on:).
6.22 miles on the roads yesterday folowed by 5.3 mile on the roads this afternoon in very chilly conditions.
Yesterday: Ran part tarmac and part icy footpaths. Spectacularly unsucessful; left thigh and achilles sore and sprained right foot. Did a bit of hard work on some hills after incurring the injuries. Then slid on my back down a muddy icy wet slope covering myself in freezing slushy mud. Trashed a map in the process. Maybe 8 miles and under 1000". Quite a nice day though!
Today; about 4 miles, running to the indian to recover my abandoned car, Also testing out my various ailments. Thigh just about right, ankle still sore, achilles not as bad. Spent a lot of rest of day balancing on my homemade wobble board. Did take my lad swimming and did maybe 20 lengths and loads of treading water which I decided would be good for my sore foot. Should be good for leg 4 of Calderdale on Sunday:)
0.55 mile warm up for Luton marathon, which was ultimately cancelled then 5.59 miles once back in Norwich.
That buggered up the course a bit ?

Did indeed, probably didn't do a lot for the car either ;)
The car looks like a boy-racer's as the alloys on it arent what you see on an everyday car - was was probably driving like a d*ck.
Had a fab day in the snow...Clapham to Ingleborough...about 8 miles...cold, no views, but great fun...only walking...(well jogged a bit on the way down) but I have an excuse! Was great to get out again!
4 miles this morning nice & fresh out there :D
3 mile recovery run early this morning.
A noon finish for me today at work so headed from Blackburn to Austwick in misty wet conditions. A few miles further north saw the back of the rain and presented me with snow/ice covered fells and lanes. I did a clockwise run from town head up to Ingleborough summit via long lane & Clapham bottoms and back via Sulber Nick & Crummack. Heading towards and up the swine tail, crampons and an axe wood not have been out of place. The whole route underfoot made for tricky running conditions, probably the reason I didn't see anyone in the best part of 2 hours. Much better than coming home and snoozing in the chair.
6.9 miles off road. Mudroc 290s played up early today :( just 20 minutes in to the run. They had been better behaved recently, usual socks used in combination too so am mystified as to why.
Thought a few miles of even tarmac might be better for my sore foot than trotting on the moors in the dark. Good plan but did end up going off road once I was fed up of cars. Got my road shoes nice and wet and muddy. About 6 miles.:)
About 5 miles / 500+ around Snailsden Res, up to trig and down through Hade Edge woods. Driving rain and clag - refreshing!
8.57 miles tonight round mossley,stalybridge & ashton
today's total 12.5 miles :)
Decided to leave the bike at home. 1m walk up Ripponden Bank, 3m recovery run to work finishing with a nice leg soak in the river, icy cold but refreshing:cool:
2M run to gym
WU on bike...then 6 x 3 mins hard 3mins recovery...WD
2M run back home
bit of a duathlon brick to make you sick session
An easy 3.53 miles earlier, club session to follow this evening.
A "sort of" recovery run. 4 miles on flat icy roads after Tanky's. Slipped more than a few times. Eek!
6 mile today on frozen tow paths and muddy fields.
loved it.:D:D
10 miles road tonight with club. Some fast sections and one spill on ice
A good 8 mile on the road with Tryfan tonight.
6 mile up Alphin from Carrbrook and back down main path. Still some frozen snow on the downhill which made it fun in the late afternoon light.
Was anybody out at Chew Reser about 4.20pm? I could see some very bright lights about that area.
