Re: Makes you proud to be Brit
Think BNP are wrong, but it is a democracy so they have a right to be heard. I don't like it but am I wrong? I don't believe all BNP voters are neanderthal thugs and in actual fact if they put a rocket up the politicians in power so that they are more people friendly then they actually might do a service!!
I personally think the media have hyped up alot of the negativity in much of the politics, as a bad story is better news than a piece of good news.
Full respect to Mr Head on stating his vote and I honestly thought about voting for Green as well.

So is Mr Griffin a liar,or are his views misrepresented by those who want to maintain the status quo? Makes me wonder after the spectacle of egg throwing, and caveman activity outside the pub he visited yesterday.
I know I keep harping on about it but the BBC Panorama documentary where they secretly filmed a BNP meeting with Nick Griffin and all his cronies really showed what their true colours were rather than the marginally more palatable "policies" they actually present in public.

You wouldn't put it past Brown to arrange the little egg throwing incident would you - it would keep Labour issues out of the news for 24 hours after all.
I'm certainly no soppy left winger either, but remember the way the protesters were handled when the Chinese leader was in town, and the recent G20 protesters.
This Govt has brought the UK to a position where freedom is almost non existant.
Re: Makes you proud to be Brit
As the son of an asylum seeker my blood runs cold at the thought of the BNP tasting power. The enormity of what they stand for takes the breath away. I voted Tory last year because I wanted to keep out a BNP candidate and that's not like me:o. (Failed to vote this time, and I use the word "failed" advisedly , because I was away on a residential and forgot to register for a postal vote.)
For God's sake read some books about the nazis, watch a film... Schindler's List or something. How can a thinking person vote BNP? My dad (you're not gonna like this Merry) fought for the Nazis and I still blush to acknowledge it; although I believe his suffering on the Eastern Front (and indeed that of the entire German nation) redeems him somewhat.
My Mam's brother was in the Welsh Guards and was D Day + 4. He won the MM in Belgium. The least I can do in his memory is not vote BNP.
The reason most migrants are here is to do a fair day's work for a fair day's pay if certain "British" scroungers had the same attitude to work there might not be quite so many job opportunities for immigrants. Think people.
CL it's not compulsory to be paradoxical.

''This Govt has brought the UK to a position where freedom is almost non existant.''
The Government hasn't really done this, peoples inability to think for themselves, willingness to bend the rules where they see fit and to argue the toss on almost anything has led to the government acting (albeit on occasions very badly).
Government crack down on protestors, look back a few years at some of the Mayday riots. No, some of the Police actions were wrong but the vast majority wasn't.
Expenses racket with MPs yes it was wrong, but how many people can say hand on heart they have never fiddled expenses. Are they saying it is okay to fiddle your boss and your company?
I find it ironic the government gets the blame for everything. ''Put away all criminals'' but people complain when the prisons are full, then don't want another prison built near them.
There is alot of things wrong in this country but a hell of alot of things are right, damned good and we should be proud of them. Great Britain is fantastic, British people are fantastic on the whole but I'm afraid everywhere has some problems. I honestly don't think life should be all doom and gloom at them moment.
By point of reference, I'm from the south(ish), living up North, with half welsh, half geordie parents, when asked I just say I'm a hybrid with little chance:)!!!

Is the BNP racist? Make your own minds up:

Let's not forget Griffin's criminal record (preventing him from becoming a councillor) for inciting racial hatred.

Sure your Dad was a good bloke GD, don't know the circumstances but many people throughout history have been forced to fight for something they don't believe in, people judge others too quickly, my Dad was too young to be involved and he and his family were forced to leave Hungary when the Russians invaded. They spent time in Austria, nearly starving to death, before eventually arriving in England, where he built himself a new life and worked hard every day till he passed away in 1999.
Remember being called a Nazi at school and having many a punch up with bullies, i am proud of my father and never thought of him as a foreigner or incomer, he was just a good, honest, decent bloke.
Re: Makes you proud to be Brit
Sod all this "congratulations for confessing to voting BNP"...
Let's not beat around the bush.
If you vote BNP you are either:
1. thick or
2. racist or
3. thick and racist.
No amount of respectable posturing by Griffin and his cohorts will persuade me differently. If you want to register a protest vote then put a cross against the greens or even UKIP, anyone but the BNP.
Re: Makes you proud to be Brit
BNP..........not for me, i treat people how i find them, and have many black, brown, yellow, pink and green friends:cool:
Re: Makes you proud to be Brit
I put a cross against the Greens and it wasn't a protest vote.
