10 miles mainly off road through Alkrington Woods, Blackley Forest and Heaton Park..most enjoyable. :)
12 mile fell race.
Not much climbing tbh. Steep right fom the start but then flattish but very poor paths around Crummock and Buttermere.
Managed sixth.
Was shocked at how heavy my legs started to feel after about 45 mins, guess thats 'cos i train mostly on road eh?
liversedge half marathon today
took some clubmembers for there first hilly half:)
surprised myself as well
1hrr 27mins, 26th place
well pleased cos i thought all this fellrunnin would have affeceted my road pace but not a bit
Took DS for an amble around the Cardingmill Canter route. Still plenty of snow around there!
Easy half hour close to Woodkirk/Batley section of Leeds Country Way -some short sharp ups and downs -very muddy, friday night's snow well and truly gone.
that's a good time on that course well done. :)
i did it a couple of years ago as my first half marathon in 1.21
today
4 mile warm up..
10k race Blackburn 10k 41.34!
no cool down!
followed by 5 mile run around downham, don't feel too bad coughed a load of crap up after the 10k!
15 miles from nothing over 2 weeks.. :D
Yesterday I walked 1/2 mile. It took 20 min. :(
But I'm still satisfied, my longest and fastest "training" of the last 21/2 weeks.:)
Will be doing 45 mins down the gym tonight as legs pretty shot from yesterdays winter hill race!
Plus its mi mum birthday today so taking her out for a meal so will be a little short on time!
64 lengths of freestyle at the new 25 metre pool Harpurhey this morning. Enjoyed it.:)
You're telling me!!! Did about 13 miles and 5500ft over the Mynd yesterday....north facing slopes were really holding the snow. Staying upright on steep descents was nigh on impossible!
What time were you there Dominion? Didn't see anyone else running at all yesterday
went for a nip round the country park this morning about 40mins. Really nice to be running off road for once :)
Surprised I didn't see you then....I set off about 1.15 from Carding Mill, headed up towards the golf course, down into Jonathons Hollow before climbing up to Pole Bank, then down Ashes Hollow and out to the far side of the Mynd (Callow and Minton).
Twas a grand day...if a little slippy underfoot :)
2 Mile warm up then 10 x 30 secs along the leeds liverpool canal, up to Bramlley falls woods, 1 x 30 secs and then 1 x 1/4 mile up hill, then 10 x 30 secs on return. Just over 9 miles all told. Nice in the rain !:)
Nearly made up for the disappointment of the Trog being canceled !:(
Easy run around the river - 8 miles. And i really mean EASY, scarcely broke into a sweat.
8mls , after yesterdays half im shagged :(
Your running very well Daz - this is gonna be the year when you step up a notch. I can feel it in me bones
In New Hampshire USA at the moment. Now if you want to run outdoors where I am its a bit difficult
1) Its really really cold
2) There does not appear to be any footpaths ANYWHERE
3) I dont know where i am
SO - 4.5 miles on the treadmill. Actually I find running on them extremely tedious and surprisingly hard - probably because Im always clock watching or better, chick watching
I was in one of those huge shopping malls earlier and there wasnt a staircase anywhere. You had to use escalators to go up or down- same in the hotel.
Its not even like you can choose to use the stairs - there isnt any
Thank the lord I am not black or I would have been writing this from my place in heaven!!!! Today I went running in Salt Lake City, Utah at 5.15am. 9Had to go early, busy day planned with skiing) Running was good at that time as there was no one else out other than car drivers. I had been out for 10 miles on Sunday and had no problems. Today I did a different route. I ran for 15 minutes in one direction and then turned back. When I got to 13 minutes in to the run I heard some one shout at me but I ignored them. Then they shouted 'Sir, I instructed you to stop, I suggest you stop now'. At that point I stopped, turned round and was signaled to come over to the man shouting at me. Over I went and then the questioning began. 'What business do I have to be running here?', 'Do you work for the Government?' All I tiold him was I was going skiing today and was having a morning run. He suggested I turned round now and head the other way. Little did I know I was trying to run in to the home of some fighter jet place which the USA airforce did not fancy me entering and having a look at. So, this morning I did 5 miles, then skied all day long on the best snow and resort I have been to. The home of the Winter Olympics 2002, Salt Lake City, Utah. The ski centre was amazing. The place was carpeted throughout, the bathrooms had gold plated everything. A little different to other ski resorts I have been to. Then tonight I did 5 miles on the running machine which was boring but safer than the morning run.
Not as cold as expected here at around the freezing point. At 9000ft today it was a little colder but nothing too bad.
More running and skiing tomorrow.
Ajohns, pop over to Utah for a run. Loads of paths, just not very interesting running on the roads.
13 miles road. Exactly the same route as last midweek. Am a little
disappointed to run just 15 seconds faster than last time but i think the effort was more consistant throughout - may even have ran a slightly faster 2nd half which is certainly better than blasting off and then dieing towards the end.
The best thing is how fresh i feel after this. Once upon a time running 13 miles of an evening would have seen me good for nowt and in bed by the back of 9pm.
7ish miles road.
Horrible. was exhausted from the minute I started running til I got back home. Every run seems like that lately and it is really disheartening :(
64 lengths of free-style at the new 25 metre pool at Harpurhey during the adult lane swim session this morning. Feel invigorated and refreshed now.
last nite 7miles
tonite 9miles
legs feel crap:(
think i need a massage
felt like my legs were made of lead - they didn't ache as such I just felt knackered trying to run :(
shouldn't feel that shit though from straight out the door, and I felt as bad when I went out for 20 mins the other day
I quite like slippery stones suggestion of a few days off :p however I am already having too many days off through all this work I ave got on
I will stop moaning now :D
6 miles around the river with me mate Milly.
Can't write more - am goin to pack.
5 miles road. Dashed out before missus and kids got back from work/nursery for a fast flat one. Still loads of water around down here. Felt good then scoffed five lincolnshire sausages, chips and beans. MMmmmm ...
went for a 10 mile run through prestwich clough and along the river irwell set off from near town it is suprising how much off road running there is so close to city centre manchester:)
I love running around there too Greendale Rocket - Where you've been today is part of the Radcliffe 12 mile trail race on Sunday.
Did about 9 1/2 miles off road (mainly on trails and paths) through Alkrington Woods and Blackley Foreset at dinner time myself today. I'm really enjpoying my runnng at the moment.:)
