Looking at the webcam for Ben Nevis, looks abit murky...
Looking forward to hearing how everyone did!!!! Good Luck all!!! xx
Any news on the winners?
Think Jebby Won?
Weather was a real challenge, not to mention a never ending climb on moving terrain. Came down well but lost too much ground on the ascent to catch Emmi, who ran a stormer of a race and Babs from Clayton Harriers who also ran a great race.
Tried to keep up with Keiron on the climb but he left me standing, as did most folk.
I'll be back next year to try and improve my time of about 2:38ish.
Awesome set-up, very organised, a shame for all the locals who had put so much into the sports field entertainment, it was bogged out.
Just had an hour in hot tub back at hotel, then off for some tea then out on the town to plan next years short cuts, which I completely missed.
Few grazes on my backside after some steep boggy, cramp inducing descending... Yahoo!!
I'll stop rambling now as I've got a Scottish Steak to devour.
It Sounds like a testing Day for a tough race. Well done to everyone who finished it.
Results...

Some bloody good runs there.....Sam Watson of Warfy, and Daz and Fleeter!
Very impressive everyone, especially given the conditions. Nice one!:):)
Well done Mudlugger, daz, Fleeter, Watto, Jebby and everyone else:cool:
Hi Mudlugger, well done on your run.
Your ratios of time taken to go up compared to time to go down seam pretty much in line with most I would have thought. As your fitness improves so will your technique.... I think. If I am in the right ball park Rob would have taken approx 63 minutes up (although I know he is a good ascender so this could have been less) and 29 minutes down.
There seems to have been a Spanish invasion at the top end of the results! Is this usual?
The Ben is part of the Skyrunning series

Well done everyone who ran. The tummy bug from hell kicked my chances of running into touch so, for the second year running, my place in the race was wasted*. At least I've run up the Ben a couple of times on my own this year so I know what the frigging mountain looks like.
* Just to head some quick to anger forum member (we seem to have one or two nowadays) off at the pass, although the place was 'wasted' on me, I emailed the organiser mid week and hopefully somebody else managed to replace me at the starting line.
Good effort Marrow .
Well up the list , I see .
MJ
Great day out even although the weather was a bit iffy. Did anyone make it back down to the Red Burn without taking a tumble? I think I bum-glided down most of the grass section.
Well done everyone great results, hope you all enjoyed yourselves, shame about the weather though.
Now you've got that lovely feeling in your quads to experience, should wear off by about Thursday!
Well done to all
I've found if you walk down (or slide on your bum involuntarily on the grassy bits) you dont get the quads problem! a lot of us last night in the pub were saying that it was so soft that our legs werent hurting - however others of 'us' can hardly walk today!!
I've got a simple target of 3:17 for next year to beat. however i wont be signing up for this again - and please you must all remind me of this come january! It is very very hard!
Good to see all the ben nevis racers in fort william on the piss.
Nice to see the clayton and bingley lads acting like true englishmen.
P**spots:p:D
did you go out on the piss with fleeter
came a cropper early on in the descent and destroyed my favourite gloves in breaking the fall to save me smashing my face on a rock (I think the poor guys that helped me up had assumed I'd done just that given the expression on their faces - sort of looking at me with one eye closed just incase it was messy - but could have just been the driving rain in their faces....) - anyway - had a fantastic bum-glide down to the river and just embraced the falls from thereon - my last one just infront of a photographer - anyone know any links to photos?
great race
cheers Tom
just happy to be able to run after a week of recovering from the TDS in Chamonix last week
How did that go. it looked at toughie on the Ultra tour website description.
Im presuming its the 105km course
