Gadzooks! the precious snow is melting...melting.....melting
Snowing again in Chinley
Our road has been virtually impassable since before Christmas with no sign of any grit. Now that the snow and ice has virtually all melted away the council gritter has just been round. Are they taking the piss:mad:
snowed a bit today, esp on cut gate, more on that soon......!
it's a bit of a shocker but the Epic is here

Started again here.
Here too (working near Alderley Edge). I've been watching it come in on http://www.raintoday.co.uk/. Not sure whether to cut & run or not. There's a severe weather warning out for Cheshire.
We had light snow here in Stockport from late morning on and off until after dark. It's made the grubby half melted mess all nice and white again - which is nice. What's even nicer is the fact that it's made it a bit safer to walk on again.
I've been gripped by some of the accounts on here. So much unbelievable snow. IDP, your collapsing cornice experience is a bit dramatic. Glad you survived unscathed.
I've just described my far more mundane experiences of the first week in 2010 here. There are plenty of pictures to go at (the full set is linked at the end).
The fresh snow made it great for walking over Sponds and Bowstones today, but would have been frustrating running - 4 good steps then whoops - down to the knee.
Rain down here today plus thaw of lying snow so very wet. There is quite a lot of lying snow however so we also have mist/fog reducing visibility to about 250m or less. Of course we've had nothing like the quantities of snow that many of you have been reporting, but still pretty special for running. All our XCs have been cancelled but a hastily arranged trail race last Sunday attracted 50 runners to cover 13 frozen/snowy miles.
As predicted:

Hello.
I love snow Falling and We had light snow here in the morning till noon. I love to see and play in the snow rain.
Nearly all gone here, but looking at BBC long range, snow should be kicking back mid-week.
Schaaweeet.
Noooooooooooo!!! We don't want more :(
ermmm its.... well ... erm.... just started snowing here , only just but yes it is white and dropping slowly from the clouds
Thought you were supposed to be 'near the dark stuff', not the white stuff?;)
There were a few flakes kicking about before, but I think it will miss us.
Saw a few flakes round here this morning, stopped now, but it's bloody cold again.
Yes I agree on my days off work, but it makes for a nasty mile walk to the train station on the sheet ice :( could barely stay upright.
It was pretty cold again out there earlier when I went for my run - took me by surprise! No snow though, it might not come this far south
Back in the dismal South today. It's grey and not snowy.
Sunderland.....4 inches on waking up this morning:)
Sat at work since 8.00 am...not one customer been in....7 staff....no sales...not good:mad:
However North East Harrier League XC this afternoon has not yet been cancelled so should enjoy a good run out then a few beers wi the boys:D
