Other variations I have done include starting from Ashopton, via Derwent Edge and finish over Birchin Hat, Rowlee pasture and Crookhill Farm. In my opinion one of the best day's out in the Peak, and one I went back to time and again.
The reverse direction from Birchin Clough Bridge on the Snake, via Oyster Clough, and back via Cutgate, Ditch Clough, Alport Farm, Cowms Moor.
Did a variation of this once with Mrs Stagger (I think) from Snake summit and back from Slippery Stones via Lower small Clough, West End Moor, crossed the River Alport at Grindlegrain, over to Oyster Clough, Birchin Clough Bridge then back up the Snake.
And also from Nether Booth, via Jaggers Clough, Hagg Farm, Lockerbrook Heights, Fairholmes, and back via Alport, Upper Ashop and the path beneath Blackley Hey.
All really great days out
