Yeah, I was being a bit tongue in cheek earlier :wink: I've been down most variants of Halls many times in many weathers and it can and does get tricky (I had similar conditions to yourself on my round and actually fell quite a few feet in the dark). The variant talked about on here is one i've used for years and the one i prefer in wet conditions.Quote:

if I was nav-ing myself I'd go down Doddick - there's only the one spot where you can go wrong and I have that firmly fixed in my "micro-nav" memory (famous last words!)
I find the "Semi-Halls" the fastest way down.
Doddick the easiest on the legs.
But in bad weather in summer the parachute is the most reliable way to get down with out losing time :wink:
base jumping is a "reliable" way of getting down off a cliff, but you won't find me doing it ;)

Weather's looking, to put it bluntly, a bit shit for Friday, so I may well find out how the "semi-Halls" is in wind/rain/clag/dark! If it's truly awful I'll do Doddick I think... so long as you pick up the start it's pretty easy going. As has been mentioned previously, Hall's/semi/Parachute are prone to difficulty if the optimum line is lost in bad conditions.

Thanks. And, yes, the forecast could well be wrong and there's still time for it to change, but the low out in the Atlantic means things will be mixed at best. Still, like Ken says (nice to meet you too - again!), got to stay positive and deal with whatever the day throws up.Quote:
