Was interesting yesterday as well, slope down to Shibden Beck was lethal....

That's correct, 080224, just like last year. I debated this at length near the start of last year's thread.
This year, the instructions sent to team captains still say 080224, as do the downloadable event instructions on the organisers' web site. Team captains are asked to distribute this information to all team members. So maybe it really is 080224 after all and we should stand corrected.
The route descriptions differ from this as they were duplicated from another web site which had taken liberty to 'correct' this error.
What do people use as a map on the day. A full map is a bit bulky and was wondering if you can get away with carrying a photo copie?
Cheers.
Anyone fancy a recce of leg 5 at some point on Saturday as I haven't a clue of the course?? I'm free to go at anytime.
I can't go sunday because I'm running at Bolton by Bowland...
If I end up going by myself, is it possible to mountain bike leg 5 for a recce as I dont want to run it in both directions on sat. Otherwise I'll be goosed on sunday!
Cheers, Al
Thanks Stagger and Al.
I'll do a photo copie. Doing my second recce of leg 4 on Saturday so should know the route quite well for the race.
i am planning on looking at leg3 tomorrow morning. just a gentle run as i have Bolton on Sunday. anyone is welcome to get lost with me
Did leg 3 yesterday afternoon in both directions, its a dam sight easier doing it in reverse just incase anyone is planning on running the race in the wrong direction....
Over here in Lankyshire its a cracking morning. Hope its the same over the border tomorrow. This time tomorrow morning our leg will be all over and then we can have a pleasent day spectating. What time do they start serving the food in Mytholmroyd:)
i'll be at the start of Leg 4 tommorrow, are there any Saddleworth runners going to be there just in case I miss Colin, I have some thing for him.
Ive got my leg 3 map plotted and im now looking forward to this.
Very anxious that i havent been able to recce it and suspect i may go wandering....but hey ho.
recced it yesterday - its very tricky and am sure you will get lost. The only point of clarity is if you run past a farm containing a field with Wallabies's in it - you have not gone wildly off track and ended up down under but are actually on route. Though what a load of wallabies are doing in a field above Hebden bridge is anyone's guess.
Good luck to all you relay folk tomorrow, might see some of you on Leg 1/2, running over to Stoodley Pike and back from Ripponden:)
Hey Ian, you don't look a day over 43 :p
