yes ... I've been doing a bit of 'this time next week' today!

Do any of the checkpoints provide drinking water? Yeah I realise that there will plenty of mountain streams ;) and I can carry a bladder with me but, from past experience, if I carry too much liquid I just sweat all that extra liquid off and more. (You can see I'm hoping for a warm day here )
I'd like to go round with just the one drink bottle to use if I'm desperate and maybe one of those sickly lucozade saches.
Well, personally I wouldn't carry much water unless it was very hot - like you said there are streams and there is usually a bit of a drinks station at Honister. I would think one bottle would be plenty and you could refill it at streams. It's the wettest part of the country!
As grouse says, the only "organised" water stop is honister, too late for dehydration.
Some of the mountain streams are cold and clear and as good as you will find.
Others walk up the day before and plant drinks at esk hause and styhead.
There are generally a few carrying drinks to styhead on the day for specific people, so ask around.
Less than a week to go - now who's getting excited/nervous??:D :D
Any long range weather forecasts yet??
excited??? excited?
well I can see that i'm hardly going to get ANY sleep all week - i'm kind of getting sick of dosing off thinking of different race routes:rolleyes: it's the waking at 1 in a cold sweat having a nightmare I'm lost forever that's the most annoying though:o
oh well only 5 more sleeps!
She probably knows it better. Billy was keeping his head down and going so fast, doubt if he ever saw the route!
Quick question on Streams on Route,
I do know the route by the way, but whereabouts are the streams with decent drinking water. Throughout the course.
Im planning on having the missus standing at Sty head tarn, and also having her get back at honistor if she can move that fast.
I may just go upto honistor the night before and put some bottles out. Is this classed as being a litter bug??????
:D ;)
After Esk Hause shelter on the path up there is a good stream you can drink from there is also another on the start of the ascent up Great Gable - look for a triangle shaped rock - it's there!
And of course the other one is at Honister.
I'm sure you'll be find stolly as you've done plenty of running in the lakes.
I think the people on here thought that you hadn't done much running!
this is true, its a perfect route for streams
just do like what huuuuuwski does
sis powder in bags , fill at the stream, do the shake and vac and put the zing back , into your body
easy peasy
if you dont like plain water, cut a lemon in half , place in bum bag and squeeze at each stream:rolleyes:
You've got me dreaming about the race now Emmi
seems like a good excuse to me Grit wish I'd thought of it!!!!
Typical, I now have a streaming cold. On the positive side it will force to cut back on running over the next couple of days but on the negative it'll add a touch of spice (and snot  ) to the actual run on Saturday!
Edit: Weather forecast looking good :) http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=1387
I'll be enjoying my picnic at Sty Head tarn on Saturday in the sunshine, i've been instructed to take pics of certain coloured vests, but i'll get as many of you as possible :)
Also dreamt that there was a second bridge at the first right turn after the start so was faced with my first route choice dilema before I'd even left the village. The weather was good in my dream :)
You could carry 'Jif' lemons to save on weight:D

has any one got a friend who is taking supplies to honister or anywhere, i could do with giving them a kit kat or something just to tide me over till the end of the race
Isn't Sarah going up to Sty head...???
what you mean you want me to run back to Honister after I've finished to bring you some cake for when you come through;)
Think Hubbie MAY drive to Honister (walking is NOT an option:rolleyes: ) sweet talk him friday night Daz and he may carry your kit kat!!
Although the lure of the beer tent may be all too much so no promises!!:o
A bit more weather forecasting; this time the BBC forecast for Keswick
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=1387
:) Deja Vu?
yeah i looked at that 1st stolly but prefered the weather on the other one!!;)
so it's either raining or scorching then:eek:
I really hope it's not hot, I hate running in the heat, it seems to zap my energy!
I know it's awful isn't it - oh well we'll have to do our rain dance on friday night!:D
I'll take rain but with good visibility or hazy sunshine.
My record though for running long fell runs is a bit disturbing as, to date, its been full sun and no clouds pretty much each and everytime. I rather cleverly managed to faint through exhaustion~dehydration~sun stroke at the end of the first one  and then struggled badly by over compensating and carrying too much liquid in the next. Nothing like learning through mistakes :)
