have hope fellow sicknotes - i was up to 8 miles last night - there is life after flu!
Well driving back to Settle from Durham after a work meeting this morning, I went over the tops from Weardale then Teesdale, then Brough, Kirkby Stephen, Hawes, Ribblehead to Settle. All the fabulously snowy mountains and moors en route inspired me to go out for a run as soon as I got back - an hour out the back door, up to Attermire above the snow line then to the trig on top of Warrendale Knots before scooting back. Terrific.
After my 12 hr Bob Graham round, had a rest day yesterday.

AM - 2.7 Tours of Pendle
PM - 6 Helvellyn climbs coming back across striding edge in a handstand.

[5 miles tonight on the road and muddy grass.:D:D:
looking forward to the weekend for another skyline recce.:eek:
6 miles at lunchtime, sort of round the trunce (lots of muddy grass with 2 inches of wet leaves on top!) and a bit more besides; the river crossings were entertaining.
6 miles with club, flatish road, bit dull. Very tired all way round. 24.5 this week so far may make it to 40 if i am, careful by end of week.
3 this morning and 5 more miles tonight, don't feel jaded this week so eating more carbs has helped, oh and drinking more beer has done me the world of gud! :p
36ish miles at mo, easy week after half last week..
4.5 mile road run tonight still not 100% with the ankle but getting better.
8 flattish miles to work, 5 min break at sandwich shop to load up for my break;)
6.5 miles at lunch time up the canal from Leeds city centre, around the golf course and back. Well muddy in the woods by the golf course and my walshes were crap running downhill on the slick fairways .
Struggled to be honest what with running quite hard yesterday, having a slightly tight hamstring and all the sliipy ground. And I was running into the wind for the first third (quietly forgetting the tail wind in the last third).
Club session
Hurdle drills (just small ones)
Followed by 6 sets of
600 metres @ 3/5k pace (20 seconds recovery), 200m @ 800/1500m pace (200m brisk jog recovery)
2-18, 42, 2-14, 42, 2-14, 41, 2-14, 40, 2-15, 42, 2-13, 39
Ran controlled with Saturday in mind, had expected to be doing just 4 sets but still not the full 8 for those not doing the Southerns.
Oh and if we are talking about weekly totals, I'm on 44.24 at the moment, with an easy 20-30 minutes witth strides to do today, the Southerns on Saturday and a long run on Sunday that should be up to 80-85 miles.
Rest day today.
Will never get to 80 - just doing 50 - 60 on a regular basis causes my body to fall apart.
Will try to make a it 40 pw and see how it goes from there.
Plan to do 17m combined trog/Stanbury recce tommorrow
