Recce'd a walk I'm leading (my other occasional life!!) on Pendle so decided to run a lot of it (c10miles 2hr 12 including map check/water stops etc).
Glorious day, Barley was chocca & got me wondering what percentage of those parked there actually go up Pendle as opposed to just sitting 50yards from their cars by the stream!!
There may be a sliver of light at the end of the tunnel.
I went down the Club on Friday night and tentatively jogged 3 x 800m on the grass, my first run for the best part of three weeks.
Saturday I went down and jogged one lap of the cross country course.
Today I did a 25Km bike ride, followed immediately by 20 mins of stretching and a 2 mile jog. I packed on the ice as soon as I returned.
Six hours later and there is no real reaction to the injuries :)
11 miles over to pendle and back, from burnley. Stinking hot, drank my lucozade sport pouch and grabbed handfuls of stream water as well.
Had a look at a bit of the Pendle Cloughs FR course; specifically the route from CP5 out of woodhouse dole, now that the new plantation enclosures have appeared since last year.
Went over on my ankle a little bit, coming down off deerstones; feels ok now though.
4 mile recovery run with lots of stretches mid way through and at the end. hoping for a full recovery before Saturday
A *freezing* 2 1/2 hrs out around Holme & Crowden loop v early on Sat., first 2hr+ run this year. Can't believe it's so GLORIOUS today! Trunce 2 to look forward to tonight. :D
I will have a rest day today, from skipton triathlon yesterday x
Had a lovely 3 mile walk alongside of the riverbank...caught abit of sun and had a lovely chat with my friend...
Which helped my shin splints feel alittle better...
Last week: 50 miles/15000ft of ascent, bulk of that in the Lakes.
Easy week now, 3 ppp's on saturday and my legs are aching at the thought of Whernside:eek:
1 hour run on the hills with plenty of short "ups & downs" after last night's furious tempo-ed Trunce. :)
Another 5-6 miles this morning at a slightly faster recovery pace. legs still shot though. went to see a 'soft tissue' expert, a physio to you and me. (please no kleenex jokes:rolleyes:)
He gave me a good going over and legs feel loads better. another run tommoroow planned and then thats it till Saturday.
Bring it on...... he says nervously
42mins: Pots n' Pans - Alderman - home....short n' sweet and easy paced....easy tomorrow and Hartcliffe Hill thursday!
I'll watch out for you Phil as I'm marshalling. Not sure where yet. Plumbum will be about too. We'll be the ones dressed in red ;)
HH has a mean first climb and an awkward traverse but a belting descent near the end, one of the best. No holding back here but watch for the stiles.;)
another 5 miles miles this morning. legs still a little shakey but getting stronger every day.
No PB for me this week end so I'll just enjoy it.
5.2 mile at Clarke's Gardens last night part of our club training night. A lot of sprint work last night and thoroughly enjoyed it.
42:02min Alderman - Pots n' Pans - Home.....easy paced, nice evening, all being well Hartcliffe Hill tomorrow :)
[QUOTE=jodg;216703]You seem to like that route Phil! Is it your "secret weapon"? :p
It's a crackin' route if time is limited, 3m approx with 950ft of ascent :)
If there tomorrow will bring that fleece..
Pleasant hour and a bit with club around Bradley and Skipton Moor this evening. Think that's about it now til PPP:eek:
Pleasant hour and a bit with club on Chevin & Danefield:).
Our two PPP-ers weren't taking it particularly easy!!
Pleasant hour (less a bit) on my own round my 'hill'. Need some training before Sundays return to the fells!

That's it till ppp's;)
