Latest news claims they're on the results page ... but I can't find them either, Clarky.

Well done Calder Valley men and women! :D
...and well done to Salford, I noticed the pair on the last leg knocked over 4 mins off their last years time!

aahh... glad it's not just me then :)
Where's me specs, still can't see them :closed:
Joe struggled last year with calf issues during this race. He's ran 30.13 for 10k since then! The other lad Ben has ran sub 32 10k as well so they should motor round it! Maybe a CR next time for them?
If anyone see's John Brown out and about tell him to do some training the big softie!!!!
And thanks to Borrowdale for going sight seeing on leg two. If not they should have ran away with this relay!!!
Great morning out, many thanks to the organisers for the race.
Andi
Pics from legs 1,2,3 & 5 on the Sportsunday gallery now. I did pics on legs 1 & 3 and was not involved with technical difficulties than caused a lack of leg 4 coverage

TBH Borrowdale were terribly off form ........Good win though by Salford but the stats dont lie
Calder Valley A-2nd
Calder Valley B-2nd B team (2nd bloody year on the trot)
Calder Valley ladies-1st (hauling back 7 minutes on the last leg)
Any leg 4 photos-there was a photographer near the leg start
I don't think that Borrowdale were off form today...... they went sight seeing on leg 3 too!!!
Dont think Borrowdale would have held on to the lead even if they hadnt have gone wrong on leg two, if you look at the rest of their leg times they were down on other leading teams.
And I think Salford were rather lucky that one of Calder valleys leg 4 runners blew up half way round or I dont think you would have caught them either, looking at the times.
Anyhow it all leads to a interesting day and a narrow victory to Salford.
Thank you to the organiser and all the marshalls.
Well done Accy RR - 1st mixed team.
We noticed quite a few teams at the end of leg 3 and 4 came in and had no one ready to hand over to. Its not rocket
science, estimate the time of arrival then be ready a few minutes before that.
I think there is a gliche on the leg 4 times, we didnt pass 6 teams as it says on the results.
Am I the only one who can't find the results?
Well done Salford - deserved to win - anyone can have runners "blowing up" - I take it that one of the pair was too quick for the other - so no luck involved really. Salford were better.
I believe they were going the wrong way on Leg 5 though and the CVFR lads called them back, so they could well have won by a bit more but for the error - and could well have been lost but for CVFR and their sporting gesture!
What happened to Joe's nose/mouth this morning? There was a good showing of blood? (Didn't get in the way of winning the leg though).
All these views are quite correct. I watched the cvfr lad on leg 4 and he blew a headgasket. Speakin of records well done cv on leg two with a stunnin time. Don't tell logue but I gave those young whippersnappers the win on leg 5 ( I wish). Me n logue were only a min of the cr aswell. That explains the pain. Great results n great event. Now where's those photos of me ha ha
What happened to Joe's face?

I'm afraid we couldn't field our strongest team, but it was a choice of get out there and have a go, or skulk about at home. I hear that Morgz & Chris Steele displayed awesome form, but as we all know, fell races are won by a mixture of speed, route knowledge and guile. They had the speed!! The rest of us enjoyed our trip out - we have been pretty long standing supporters of the PBR, and as they say, it ain't about the winning, it's the taking part that matters. Although winning is quite nice! Congratulations Salford. Next year!
The lad with the bust nose ays that he face planted on his run, resulting in a broken nose.
I think one or two other teams went walkabout on Leg 2 as well. I was running for Clayton Vets B (first B team again btw!) and i had it calculated as dropping four places, but the results show us dropping just two. Maybe I'm wrong (we passed a few and got passed also, so it did get a bit confusing) but i reckon a few teams took the long road home!! Sale dropped 21 places; either they were in the wrong team or had a seriously bad day out.
One of the Sale runners hasn't been too well of late. Explains the big drop in time and placing. Infact, the B team for Sale were quicker on leg 2!!! But you don't know this stuff until it's too late to make changes or do anything about it. Well done to Gaz and Greeny on getting round leg 2.
Interactive results and graphs now available here or from link on PB Relay website.
is that you in this photo (top left)?

Hey Fungus - great run. Good to see you are building on your good start at Hebden Bridge last year! Fantastic.
Great day yesterday with some great competition in all of the categories. 2 new overall records in the Vets and MIxed and 4 new leg records reflecting the good going underfoot. The results were put on the event website at around 6.00 pm last night, on the results page !......there will be some minor alterations to the results as several teams have reported incorrect times being recorded and Sportident will hopefully sort them out. There is also now a link to the Sportsunday site where you can find lots of pics from the day. No real problems on the day and most people even turned up with the proper kit. I pair needed the gear when one of the ladies fell and cut herself......lots of people think the kit thing unnecessary but if just 1 person out of the 1000+ needed it its worthwhile. I have put a new rule in there for next year not allowing the use of Sat.nav I phone or similar devices in lieu of a map which is what several people were intending to use !.....ok for recording your stats on the day though.
Great to see the legend that is Gavin Bland out and running, good on the Borrowdale lads for making the trip down. Well done to the mighty Salford Harriers winners for the first time, Calder Valley gave a good run for their money though.
Date for next year Sunday 5th February. Entries open online 1st November 2011
Well done Lefty - I can say we all enjoyed our day at BBH. It would be a shame to cut the numbers back - when you get round to legs 3 - 5 it can often be quite lonely anyway so it's quite good to come across other teams from time to time.
Maybe clubs have to be limited to the number of cars per leg? Not sure how it would operate, but perhaps car parking passes for runners and maybe 1 "team manager" per club? I think one of the problems is with "spectators" clogging up the changeover points.
Perhaps identifying "Viewing Points" would be a good idea. There's plenty of options on Leg 1, Leg 2 around Jack Bridge and Blackshaw Head and so on. I travelled the whole way around after finishing leg 1 and saw very few away from the CPs so perhaps people just aren't clued up on where they can watch.
If such a move takes 10 - 20 cars away from each changeover, especially Leg 3 start, then it would help a great deal.
I did email out to all of the team captains/managers several times asking them to tell their team members not to spectate at the c/o and also I put a plea on the event website asking people to avoid using the c/o the view the race and to avoid Callis Bridge at all costs......all to no avail seemingly !......cheers for the advice I will keep it in mind for next year.
Thats me with the pipe fungus the bogey...
Good to raise the car issue, we used one car to drop/collect at 3 legs in total so trying to do our bit. Just wonder how successful a mini type bus would be like the ihodg... for this event and/calderdale way? Worth the expt? I know some clubs are trying to reduce car clogging but always good to review eg A and B teams travelling together never mind the extra 20 min quality spectating eg
Does the lack of traffic (pardon the pun) in the car sharing section of the forum reflect how little interest there is in actually sharing.....................?
