Right Grousey... get yer glad rags on. We're going out tonight.
I'll think of you all when i'm slumped on the sofa with a beer
good luck
Ready when you are Marg, you sweet talker, you.
Good luck everyone. Will think of you tonight while sat in a warm pub tucking into my sticky toffee pud n custard :D
Disappointed not to be fit enough to do it, but still envious of you all. Have a great run Nuns.
Enjoy yourselves everyone.
Sky looks awesome here, all lit up red...that means red sky at night, shepherds delight.......right?
I'll be bringing along a few cases of the old Rescue Ale any one wants any....
Good luck everyone, see you in a couple of hours!:D
Good luck & all the best for a great night.
Well done to the Nuns.:D Third place.
any other results?
First was Flipper's Gang in just under 9 hours. Not sure about 2nd.
Emmilou was unwell and had to drop out at Moscar.
Sounds like conditions were very heavy under foot, but the wind was light, and visibility was generally good.
Daz, IDP & team were third in 9.37.
Stolly & I did 12.15 (ish). Currently sat in the Lantern Pike with a well-earned pint of Landlord.:)
Anybody seenwhere Stanners and Col Bishop finished
Unfortunately one of our team was recovering from a bug and had to wrap it after Edale Cross so we finished with 3, think that might put The Nuns into second place but can't remember if they finished in front of the AvonLadies or not. A bit disappointed but still enjoyed it and it was good to give the Nuns a sprint finish ;). Well done everyone, and thanks to all the organisers.
Big thanks to the organisers. marshals etc - was a great experience and I surprisingly enough enjoyed it! Did 13hrs41, which was better than our aim of 14hours :D
A new first for me - I actually saw the top of Bleaklow  at the fourth time of trying....

Its usually clagged out and/or pissing with rain and/or raging a blizzard :D
And bloody well done RachFR!
An excellent night and many thanks to all the marshalls and organisers.
We had to drop a team member due to illness at moscar but carried on as 3 finished 10.34 (would have been 7th but as a 3 we only get time)
what fantastic value for money!!! thanks to all involved, a brilliant job. and thanks to 'team rach' for letting me come and play ;)
oh, and well done to everyone who made it past the start line :)
next year.....
you all looked a little weary whenyou came in, Hope the ITB is ok. The HPM does dish out the punishment. Youngfellas dad looked quite chipper, just like Youngfella:cool:
Although we charged to a 1 second finish over the Avonladies:confused: they had given us 6/7 minutes start so we knew they would beat us.
First Ladies team was DarkPeak-Accelerate Ladies for the third time??
First Mixed was The farmers Wife(Nicky Spinks) team with pavement plodder in tow;). also for the 3rd or 4th time(just under 10 hours) this team also had Nick Cable in who was only doing his second race in two years on his way back from injury. Well done Nick (and John and Ian)
We had a lovely run through the night making the call to take the ridge rather than plump for the normal FBC up Bleaklow as we thought the snow would be too soft. what a call that was as we went straight to the errant CP.
Day break on the way down to SS.
team pie i think may have finished fifth in 10h03m.
A great race once again many thanks to filthy rich and the gang excellent organisation.
Good effort and a shame for JM.
No way could I have chased you lot back to Edale
I was going okay until falling down a bog and my left leg just was in a world of pain. I had at least 8 pain killers but by the snake the wheels fell off.
Thanks to IDP, Adam and Mick for really pushing me and pullin me round.
A true team effort
Floorless navigation from Ian. I think he lives on Bleaklow:).
Thanks to all the marshalls
Grouse you have a hole in your tracksters;)
Hey it's a good job you're here Daz.
Oh and can you ask Margarine if she has any remedies for 2 x missing toenails.
God they look like Geoffs toes
Many thanks to the organisers for another great night out. Emmilou made the difficult decision to drop out at Moscar with a stomach bug so we (the rest of the Pussycat Trolls) carried on as a threesome to finish in 12.10.
It was a pretty night on the moors and conditions underfoot weren't as bad as I'd been expecting after last week's arctic recce. The marshalls were all brilliant, really cheery. I'm definitely going to take rucksack fairy lights again as they were much admired by the other teams (or possibly laughed at :)) Thanks to Dave who left us a fantastic present of some chocolate at Bleaklow Stones which picked us up nicely - I've been trying to figure out which dave you are but don't know!
Cheers all,
Clare
