Daz,
I see from the entry list that you've entered at U23M. Is that because you fancy your chances for one of the fantastic prizes? How about an MV50 next time, or even spread your bets by entering several categories in the same race?

Just a little reminder for everyone - please leave time to park and register we have in excess of 500 competitors in the senior race and the junior race is looking very busy too......let the chaos commence!!!!
Are there any entries left for the waltz? I'll bring some cake as a bribe if need be...
This race is too soon for me only started running yesterday!
i have entered this but will not be able to attend what can i do can somebody benefit from my entry?
Where's that Merrylegs......... if you want carrot cake you'll have to be quick,
The Hubby has already eaten half a cake he says it's "very nice"
hi wynn- i see you are on line - is it too late to enter?
The weather looks like fun for Saturday :D
Outlook for Saturday
Rather cloudy everywhere with outbreaks of rain and with snow above 600 to 700 metres. Fresh to strong east or southeast winds and feeling cold on the tops with a temperature of zero to minus 1 Celsius at 900 metres.
That sounds delightful!!!
Got sunburnt on this last year!! What a difference eh?!
Just got back from Newlands ....... light snow on the tops sunshine and blue skys......
I'll bring the suntan lotion!!
The weather outlook is improving :)
Outlook for Saturday
A mainly dry day is expected with perhaps just an odd shower towards the east of the area. Cloud mostly broken with the best of the sunshine over western fells. Brisk easterly winds making it feel cold on the hills with the freezing level around 900 metres.
I assume that juniors can enter on the day - can anyone confirm?
Just got agreement that our family weekend can include a fell race!
I've just put some details up on the junior thread, but yes they mostly do enter on the day.
The entry for the Anniversary Waltz is now closed total entered 549. Thanks for the amazing entry, hope you all have an enjoyable day - looks like it might snow/rain
Wynn, if it is rain snow, will that mean we will have to carry waterproof jackets (taped seems etc) rather than shower proof?
Sorry to disapoint hopey but that was the rule anyway.
KIT RULES
This is an extremely exposed route early in the season. On this basis a full kit check will be done at registration, and spot checks at the finish for:
Full waterproof body coverNot to carry them will result in disqualification.
Map, Compass and Whistle
Entry is dependent on your carrying this as a minimum!
You have been warned
I think the chances of rain have diminished (Mountain Weather Information Service) but it could be wind chill-erotious on the tops. I might run in my windproof, which seems to keep me warmer, and carry my waterproofs.
Just to clarify, I'll definitely be able to buy a race map on race day won't I? I visted Pete Bland's red van at the Coniston 14 and they reassured me they'd have a supply on race day.
I'll have an OS map with me and can't imagine needing to use that or the PB one but I kind of like collecting the race maps.
well if we are buffeting too, I'd recommend we all carry one of these:

i think they are rather fetching.....but i know how well i serve stew and i think 3rd degree burns to the thumb all round!
It's worse than that Adrian. Have a look at the Met Office site.
It is still winter on hills above 750m where there is snow to a depth of 30cm. The snow covers all aspects, but is mainly on North and East facing slopes. Full winter clothing and equipment, including an ice axe are essential for anyone venturing above the snow line.
