Had to chip ice off the car this morning, coldest night yet......so took out the new full length bib tights for a quick 30 mile spin:) Nothing fancy.
Now isn't there something I should be remembering about ice???:eek:
A drizzly and misty start that didn't improve a great deal! 6 of us met in Whalley and Wycoller was the destination but I didn't fancy it so headed to the best cafe in the Dales somewhere near Austwick and booked the club Xmas dinner whilst I was at it. The cafe has had a mini makeover and the bottom room has been opened up, more tables added and an open fire roared whilst I slurped my homemade carrot and celery soup.
I took the bumpy single track route back from Lawkland via Rome, Wham, Tosside and Forest Becks before hitting the normal roads near Bolton-By-Bowland.
Around 62 miles at 16 average - the Lawkland-Forest Becks route is a gem!
Absolutely buzzing. Injured leg is not affected by MTBing, which is great news!
Can't run but can pedal for England.
Nice 30mile on/off road MTB today, more of the same tomorrow.
I could see a few peeps tackling the FTOP from the valley floor, looked pretty windy up there!
I stuck two V's up at the section that crippled me last weekend then rode past proudly! :)
85 miles at 17.5 with the early training ride from Whalley. We headed through Bentham, Wray, Caton and Quernmore to the cafe at Scorton before heading back through the lanes to Longridge, Ribchester and Whalley. Heavy showers to start and sun and wet roads to finish. Ride was spoilt somewhat by a road rage incident near Quernmore resulting in a broken nose for one of the group and a call to the plod!!
Bloodyhell! Sounds like an interesting ride!
Can't wait till I get a road bike to rack some miles up.
Luckily yesterday's rain and wind had died down so managed a gentle 50 miles today.
Managed to come off within the first mile after slipping on some wet leaves when turning. Only damage was to my pride thankfully :o
About a mile further on I realised my pump must have dropped off in the tumble so had to go back and find it. Felt like giving up and heading home at this point but quite glad I carried on in the end :)
