I reckon my calculations are pretty much ok.
I've just measured the old course and I make it nearer 1,400ft which seems more logical.
Have you done the race before TT

Have done my first two 5k this week. First runs in nearly a year!!! It took me an age (35mins.....some people do 10k in that time!!! :D)and was really a run walk but it's a start! (7 weeks post emergency C-section)
Today I am aching in places I didn't know I had! :D
BEWARE THREE PEAKS 2010! I'm back in action! :D
Interesting variation on a local favourite last night. Up onto Great Hill v soon after leaving Holme village then along the top to Wrigley's Cabin. Bit of exploration on the ridge - peat was dry as a bone! - then onto Black Hill. Down PW until cut off NE towards bridleway back to Holme. Took in another ascent on the face going up to Great Hill. Made just over an hour.
Bloomin' sharp out last night though, back at the car the display indicated it was only 3 degrees.
Last night ran up to Capt. Cook's Monument from Great Ayton village, dropped into Gribdale then up over Great Ayton moor, dropped into Guisborough Woods, ran up the Hanging Stone, down Little Roseberry and up Roseberry Topping. Approx 9 miles. Chicken Curry, 2 cans of stella and The Simpsons afterwards. The perfect evening!
Smoggy
About 7.5 miles from Fox House to Moscar. Wooly hat gloves and waterproofs req'd. Last week too hot to run. When they say climate change is happening very quickly they're not kidding.
Edale country day race. fast and furious and bl00dy windy on Grindslow. local knowledge took me down the plummet to great success
Barden Bridge to Cav Pav and back. Lovely evening to be out and about :)
1 hour in gym this morning, then 1k in the pool this evening. Good recovery day after the boredom of Wharfedale half yesterday.
I have a running buzz again.
Im gonna be training six days a week
Today 4 miles on the road sort of a swift recovery run in about 34 minutes
I have done my first 3 runs last week....boy is it hard getting back into it and starting from scratch again!
x3 5k on treadmill at a snails pace and having to walk every few minutes but improving every time!
Can't wait for this weeks sessions! How refreshing!
Well done MG :).
I ran the 'big' three peaks over the weekend; Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. A blizzard at the top of the Ben on Friday evening, a howling blizzard at the top of Scafell at 4 am Saturday and driving rain and very strong winds on the top of Snowdon Saturday lunch time. Chuffing brilliant though.
All mountains run in shorts - none of this mamby pamby tights, leggings or waterproof trousers mallarky.
Scafell Pike - a bit parky :D

Well done Stolly, weather looks:cool::D
A measly 4m home from new job over Norland Moor, can't start yet till i've sorted my notice period out with the old place, but the job's mine, chuffed to bits!!!!!!
90 minutes along the cliff tops in lovely sunshine
Good if very rough race in last nights summer series
8k and 650ft around Back tor and Abbey Brook. some fierce climbs. lots of route choices but mine this time let me down as I went from first to 5th between two cp but finished 4th.
Didn't stop there though as one runner went missing! and 4 of us set about reversing the route. He turned up though after 40 minutes looking a little sheepish. he'd missed a path junction at speed! easily done if you don't know the area.
so + 4k and 450ft
I'll second that! Real lung buster going up to Berrister's I felt, some great toe work thrutching up the banking. :(
Glad the missing runner turned up! Luckily I was in the pack so had Nicky & Andy shouting behind me which way to go! :p I'll put me compass away then...
50 lengths swimming this morning. Going out for 30 mins on turbo soon.....
actually only did 20 minutes:o at a steady pace to get the 'feel' of the thing
Did 30 mins this morning on Turbo. 5 mins warm up followed by ramping up in 2.30 intervals up to max. before dropping down and starting again. Did this three times:eek:
Felt very dizzy near the end. tis the devils work.
Runningwith plumbum and Brent this evening. PB where are you???
PB where are you???[/quote]
At the curry house with us lot last night :D:D
Keeps himself very busy now hes not "working" Unlike me who has all the time in the world at work to read this!!:D
(5 miles steady round Rivelin last night dodging the hundreds of others that were down there too!)
6 minutes 34 seconds. A little time trial i like to do from time to time. About 20secs down on my pb.
Hill reps tonight, up and down at varying speeds, 4m in total, only fell over once!
Walked round sainsburys for four hours pulling rollers (the 6ft+ metal cages on wheels that carry the food/drink out onto the shop floor)
Quite a good work out really, but not for the knees.
And then got to cycle home is the pouring rain... drip drip drip
No insomnia gone, just got abit of a dodgy body-clock.....a students body-clock.
Got to be up early to go to work at a new store thats being opened in garstang....they need me to go and hold their hand and basically show them what to do....if the cant keep up im afraid they shall be left behind.
a gentle 4 miles with about 500ft. at a slow pace. not really training more of a recce.
legs felt tired so I might ease back now ready for the trog
10 miles over Norland Moor, down to Copley, up to Greetland, back over Norland Moor to Ripponden, nice sunny early morning run.
5.5 miles around my bog standard hilly run on Wednesday night in 57 minutes (could be a new world record :)) and getting on for 8 miles on a slightly hilly off road club run with Skipton AC last night, which included a fantastically fetid, junglely, nettlely and swampy run along a very overgrown disused railway track (69 minutes give or take).
Cracking couple o' hours yesterday first thing on Bowland fells. Started at Fell Foot then up Parlick before some ups and downs ending up at Fiendsdale. Visited site of WWII Liberator wreck that went down in August '44. Crew were only 22 & 25yrs, v. sad.
A bit more exploration on the top then back. ~800m of climb in all.
Most pleasant. :p
Ran to Bolton Abbey and back on the Dales Way yesterday tea-time (8ml perhaps). Walked home about 4ml from pub in lovely refreshing summer rain last night
Early doors run this morning. Holme village up to Holme Moss then a few variations around Black Hill, Tooleyshaw and Bareholme. 2 1/2hrs, ~900m of climb. Not a soul to be seen and cloudy out. Was back at home having a cup o' tea before 10am. Magic! :p
