also in as an also ran..number 194 !!
even after (much) swearing last year....never again
Arrgh !! left my wallet at home !:( will I get in tomorrow ?
DNF. First time i've ever pulled out of a race :( I was gutted. Think its just a strained/pulled calf muscle. Went over on bad ankle just after stream crossing between checkpoint 1 & 2, well taped so seemed to get away with it but then calf started niggling a few mins later so not sure if related. Got steadily worse til I couldn't run on it at all.
Seem to be walking ok today, so reckon thats a good start point for my 3 peaks training!
I'm in - was sweating & cursing my Pc as it kept losing the net connection.
When's the 1st reccie then ?
In :)
Gave up at top of steep up after cp 3 when leg just conked out. I knew at cp 3 that things were going horribly wrong but still thought I might get away with it.
At least it gave me a good excuse for bimbling down the descent to cp4 - not much difference there between my race pace & injured pace!
Well for some reason I've entered, not sure it's the wisest thing I've ever done, but I always say that so here goes. I'll put on the list now of things to do NOW!
I'm in :). Here's hoping I'm fit and well in five month's time.
So it's at just about 300 now. Does anybody know how many online entries are available?
£6000 of entry fees in under 12 hours... can't be bad!!!
For what it's worth, the 3 peaks route is very sign posted with much of the area where widely different routes would be available (below Pen y Ghent) being made out of bounds for the day. The descent from Pen y Ghent has to follow the Pennine way, with many runners running sort of parallel to that but in the softer bog fields to the right. Ditto the descent from Whernside only really offers a couple of corners to cut with not much at all from Inglebrough until you get a chance to cut a corner not far from the finish.
A recce though would be a great idea, more as a practise run than anything else. I've just moved to Settle and I'm thinking about running the three peaks route fairly often next year - I'd be up for recces for sure. That said its more fun to run the 3 peaks ignoring the race route, short cutting below Pen Y Ghent and doing the all runnable loop to the top of Whernside.
well thats me signed up!
number 313:D
I'm in too, I am up for any recce runs before the end of the year.
Thats me in at 292. Got something to train for now, don't think ill go out tonight though, looks a bit cold and wet! Lol:D
Hope my wife doesn't see the bank statement  .
I've been trying to enter for over an hour - the system keeps crashing.
HELP!!!
Website is back up and running now. I've just entered :D
I still can't get it to accept mine. There'll be hell to pay if it fills up without me! It's driving me crazy!
I've logged in and logged out, shut down and fired up, done everything except the Hokey Cokey. I get so far and then it just stops. All my other internet connections are working fine, hence this posting. Anyone know of a phone support number? I've tried the one on the 3 Peaks website and no-one answered.
how far do you get?? I take it you are logged in/registered to sportident and doing it through there??
No-one can do it your behalf either I'm afraid one per person only I guess for obvious reasons
Yes, I'm registered and logged in on the sportident site. I managed to get to 'confirm' several times, and twice beyond this, but haven't managed to submit payment details. It keeps saying "An error occurred" at this point. Hope it's not an applemac compatibility issue - I can't buy shopping from Asda for this reason!
oooo it might be?? no boffins about??? David, Dom? I've got 'works' or something not applemac anyway! sorry - can't really offermuch help:o
Think you might have hit the nail on the head. I've been using Safari, and have only just switched to Firefox after speaking to Martin Stone on the phone. Will let you know how it goes.
Mrs Crumbly's managed an entry ,just.
Hmmmm... still having problems, but Martin's been very helpful and has assured me I'll be in :D .
I've gone through the full entry process and paid up but my name isn't on the list yet...nor does the race appear in 'my entries'.
Is there a lag in the database or should I be scared?
