A colleague (now there's a word) of mine used to be a collier at A pit near Ashington and he could remember working with ponies. He said that they used to fart quite a lot (and they seemed to instinctively know when your nose was in close proximity) - hence the name of this beer, perhaps?

yipee vest come on sat. Thanks master and Fell monster for trying to get it to me for rotherham , but next run i'll fly the flag in the face of normality with it. There was a few ponies in the fields on rotherham , i even passed pleasantires to one of them, but he didnt have a lot to say....:D

In case anyone's counting, there are now 50 Ponies in the stable....enough for a relay team and then some....if they allow horses that is:)

The problem is are those 50 members, members of other clubs as well?

If so then can they only run for the first claim in relays?

I know we have members of our club who run for Achillie Rati on the fells, so they can't run for us in relays and other fell races.

I'm not in any other club, so would be available for relay duties

I would, however, like to state in advance that my inclusion would ensure a last place finish :D

but at least we'd get the Fell Ponies name into the results ;)

Thanks for the happy birthdays. Upto now, forty has all been a bit of a blur... but the Crumblies contribution to the festivities was VERY tasty and well received;) . Any meaningful insights or pearls of wisdom that come to me, having come of age:rolleyes: ,I shall of course share here.
