If at any point you happen to notice bubbles rising up to the surface of the bog, that'll be me beneath trying to say 'Famous Last Words'.

I'll be there trying to run off the hangover from the office Xmas party - they always organise it on the night before the Stoop! One of these days I'll take it seriously and fall into the bog at speed!!
Doing it for the first time, me lads doing U8 Race. Did his first race at the shepherds skyline race and lost both his trainers in a bog. Does anyone know if its permisssable for parents to run round with the juniors?
Can't see anyone objecting unless you kick the opposition over a precipice, or attempt to claim you're the winner.
It's not uncommon on U/8 races for parents to encourage their littl'uns round and be there for general safety, tear wiping, bruise kissing, etc.
It might be best to check with Dave W. at registration though. I'd think he'd be sympathetic, the only possible problem I could imagine would be the narrowness of the path in some places, and you'd have to be careful not to baulk any tiddlers trying to get past.
Do you want to go round to cheer your lad on, or find out what the *&%$ he's doing with his trainers? It takes some doing to lose both on a race - respect.
Lots of info on the race on http://www.woodentops.org.uk
Lots of parents run with the under 8s, they do a shortened route before the mass junior race. Great way to introduce them to fell running, not very far but two scramble climbs and a big descent for them.
I just read on someones website 'Don't expect me to start posting on forums', and then someone under the name Woodentops posts. I might not be a police investigator but something fishy here!!!!
Great fun for me today- an unexpected day off work due to chucking my guts up in the night so catching up on forum posts and thought I would check this race out as I was planning on doing it this Sunday, but might have to adjust plans now. Was also supposed to be doing XC at Rossendale and moving home, so the busy weekend might take some adjustment now.
Same course Woodentop? How wet is it?
See you Sunday everyone if I feel ok.
How are they in wet conditions compared to walsh or swoop?
