Surely the only logical conclusion is for 2010 only to move the start and finish to either side of the river.....or allow 24:05 rounds..
:-)
Thanks Steve J B; Exactly what I meant to describe from a distance. Good to know it works out in practice.
Suspension bridge still looking decidely shut and barred this Monday pm - definitely not welcome at the end of a long wet day recce-ing legs 4 and 5.
Anyone have any further news as to when the bridge might be fixed?
This seems to be the definitive source of info, but hasn't been updated since January. Given the fundamental damage to the bridge, it could be some time before it opens. The diversion via B5289 is 0.5 Km.
I've heard that this issue was raised at the Cumbrian Local Access Forum last week and that the bridge should be open soon...
I do hope so. Those extra couple of minutes could make all the difference!
We did legs 4 and 5 today and the bridge is now open.
nice one stu... I managed a beautiful run out over blencathra... up sharp edge, down doddick fell, up halls fell, down scales fell, bumping into Andy Ramsey twice as he did something similar. What a delight to be on the top in warm sunshine for the first time this year.
Knee seems to be okay so I expect to be out at the 3Ps in a fortnight and ready for your bob in May.
