Would you/anyone like a map? It’s not like the Calderdale area, dead easy straight forward routes.
I'm thinking of a bit of a recce on Sunday about 18 miles if interested?
sorry chris, on closer inspection i realise im in ireland that weekend might see you ay the wharfdale if your running

Re: Blubberhouses 25 - 5th Apr
I've got to do this one seeing as it takes in some of my favourite local paths; I reckon I could do the Beamsley Beacon - Ellarcar Pike bit with my eyes shut! Will be doing some sort of recce next weekend (21/22) if anyone fancies it.
Chris - is it definitely being run anti-clockwise? I don't want to recce it the wrong way round!

Re: Blubberhouses 25 - 5th Apr
The current description (from a link earlier in this thread) is for a clockwise circuit, any link for the anti-clockwise version? Thinking of doing this.

Sending maps is a popular service, it's filled my inbox! Should be/hopefully a good turnout of runners. The previous organiser presented prizes for winners of different categories, hope they do it this time

Don't worry Ady, there'll plenty of scran. These LDWA events are well noted for their catering both on the course (typically cake, biscuits, fruit, sweets, sandwiches etc), and afterwards, (often some kind of stew and then very traditionally rice pudding and tinned fruit). Put something you like in your bag just in case you flag a bit between checkpoints and you'll be fine

Re: Blubberhouses 25 - 5th Apr
Yep, meant to do it last time but injury got in the way  Been doing hill reps this winter so a bit of a hill demon at the moment:p - it's the downhills that get me knees though. Just going to take it steady.

See you there Bob  Haven't done it before but it's close to home and was ideal as halfway between Hobble and PPP on the calendar ;)

Doh! :)
Given how dry it's been in the last week (with only the possibility of a shower before Sunday) I reckon it could be quite firm. There's quite a lot of tracks as well by the look of it.
-
Re: Blubberhouses 25 - 5th Apr
You lucky buggers. Enjoy it.
I expect Sunday to be a day of recovery - after the post race do in Ireland. :D

I was up on Ilkley Moor Saturday and Beamsley Beacon / Round Hill area Sunday and it's very firm and dry. I might have worn road shoes at the weekend, if I had any :(:p

Yes, the route looks tremendous and the views should be too given clear weather. Will see you and DT bright and early on Sunday.

On Sunday, I caught up with 3 runners map reading heading towards Timble, were you one of them?

Re: Blubberhouses 25 - 5th Apr
Brilliant run out this morning with Ady and Bob plus a couple of other friends. Nice route with loads of running, plenty of sunshine and tons of familiar faces; perfect! Good to meet Chris Brown too :)

Re: Blubberhouses 25 - 5th Apr
My first event for 3 years ! Was going really well in about 9th place til Beamsley Beacon, when I hit the wall. Eventually struggled home in 24th - 4 hours 26 mins (despite a wrong turning after Timble).
