Brilliant - give her my congratulations.
That was great!
I got too carried away on the road though and had no legs left for the fell.
We had a great day ... a good weekend actually. Camped overnight at Hawkswick, both races on Saturday, beer and food at Kilnsey Tennant Inn then on Sunday a nice hike up through Hubberholme, Yockenthwaite and up over Buckden Pike via the pub at Cray. Lovely weather for it, me poor swad got a bit sunburned!
As far as the race went, well, I think I also got a bit carried away on the road race. Did the first mile way too fast and hated it from about 2.5 to the end. Fell race was short and sweet, didn't have much left in my legs for the fight though.
BL - did I see you limping a bit? I wasn't far behind you at the end, so I'm thinking you were either a) really knackered or b) injured in some way. Hope you're OK!

On Wharfedale Harriers site.
As I've got next weekend off, and didn't feel up to the 'Cross Bay Challenge' yet (missed the closing date anyway), I was considering heading up for the fete.
If we do so, it seems sensible to run both events; the road-race & the fell-race.
Looking at the OS map, I'll presume that the road-race heads down towards Hawkswick?, and where does the fell-race go? Please.
Quite a few people do both races. I have along with usually at least 3 or 4 others from KCAC in the last few years. Road race is 4 miles and quite fast in a square coming back in on the side of the village. Fell race is ace, its BOFRA now so their website will explain it better than me. Race is fun, along a track, up the hill, along the top and a great 'fun' and fast descent, back on the track and home. It is quite short (that's why i can do both as I'm pretty useless!!)
Thanks for that, I'll look at BOFRA
