A dusting of half an inch here in Stratford. The odd flake in the air. Why the kerfuffle?
The cat's happy
The next snowstorm has just arrived here. Just popping out on the skis, I may be some time.........
Snowing quite heavily here now, cant wait for my lunch time run :D
4-6 inches in Chelmsford, which is a lot for these parts.
NOWT here :D
Huggins here, been sent home from work with full pay:thumbup:
oh bugger.....spoke too soon. It has ARRIVED. Just a wee flurry though, be gone in an hour with any luck!
Coming down with a vengenace now in Leicester. Probably worse in the sticks. Blimey. Think it'll be an interesting drive home.
A foot at least in North Notts but I am not there. I want to build a snowman.
It's slowed as quickly as it sped up. I could almost taste the early go home...!
Those northerners have all the luck.
Just took 3 times longer than normal to drive form Keighley to Stainland 19mile.
Two things have bugged me, folk who go out but cant drive in the snow and the absence of coppers who should fine the blockages and put their traffic hats on and start working.
PS A clue for the coppers is Salterhebble hill, hill is fine 50% of motorists crapping themselves. 1 Traffic officer required.
Rant over.
North Notts has 45cm of snow!
Nothing like 45cms but lovely snow hereabouts too

Loads in Leeds this afternoon. Deep and crisp and even :w00t:
Total panic on the roads though at lunchtime as everyone was trying to get home. Hopefully things will be quieter now.
Being a public transport user (when not cycling) my bus took half an hour to get from the stop in front of Leeds station to the pedestrian crossing at the west entrance of the station at which point I got off and caught a rather delayed and 'sardined' train for the 10 minute journey to Bramley stn!!
Just been over the hills with badger and def a trudge in six inches of snow. Great run mind. Brilliant. I love snow
I must remember to only venture out if in really have to
Yeah right
went for a walk today up the local lane. Found a 4x4 navarra stuck in a snow drift. snow up to my waist in places, here's some pictures

Just seen Woodhead Mountain Recue out on the A57 in Worksop on BBC,out to 200 lorries, makes you realise how much snow we have got around Sheffield, up to knees in places (6' and dont have short legs!)
I'm sure you are much too sensible to end up like these folk Daz (with thanks to Southern Softie for posting the link on Facebook:thumbup:)

Mobile 2 at South Anston
Funny how MR help everyone out that's in the shit and then have to go cap in hand to keep running.
WELL DONE TO ALL MR AND THEIR SUPPORTERS:thumbup:
...and it's going to get worse for all the MR teams as police and the Fire service shed staff their ability to deal with similar incidents and look for missing persons and a search water ways for bodies etc becoming increasingly difficult to staff/fund. The MR is a free resource (although they do fund some of our kit such as radios) which the emergency services can call on at any time.
Yes Yiannis I love the snow. The neighbours think I am totally bonkers taking a border collie with flashing bike lights on his collar for a run over the hills in blizzard conditions. I have suffered for years with Seasonal disorder but its a fact that winters with a bit of snow in them are not so bad. I had a 9 mile trudge tonight, just me and the dog and no other footprints on the hills. Magic
Yes I have the problem now of my hands but when its this cold I just use 2 x pairs of gloves and the handwarmers.
I measured it on top of my car earlier today. It was 10 inches!! It's since put down another inch or so.
I also got a chance to test out my tyre socks. They seemed to work pretty well. Mrs Noel got some winter tyres instead - they work well too.
We just need to school to be open now. It's no use being all mobile when I'm stuck at home with the kids.
It's been snowing in Scotland and the North East for over a week. One snowflake in the South East and it's now headline news.
It's snowing :w00t: 3 to 4 inches of the cold white fluffy stuff has landed overnight
Getting the skis waxed up, so I can hit the Co-op's rapidly emptying shelves and corner the market in turnips and strong flour. Got 5 gallons of Imperial stout to bottle, so that should see us through till Christmas.
We're supposed to be camping this weekend in the Peak: Biggin to be precise, at the Backpackers Club Xmas party. What are our prospects of getting through to Biggin at the moment? Any local info would be useful. My normal route would be A54 from Congleton to Buxton, A515 towards Ashbourne, then minor road to Biggin. And how deep is the snow around there, and how shovelable? There'll be me and my 10-year-old daughter clearing a space in a field for our tent in the dark tomorrow evening...
Odd place to do it, but impressive in this cold!
Saw IDP's mates hamming it up for the TV. ;) Just kidding, how's it going out there Ian?
Still nowt to write home about here in Stratford. Travelling home tonight, and by the sounds of it I just need to worry about Staffs, but even then M6 is s'posed to be reet.
 It has even reached us here in Central London now (not much mind you!)
