2/3 FTOP this morning.
Currently donnning 2 bloodied lower legs from running through foot deep razor sharp ice snow....nice! :)
Still plenty of snow up there, loads of people up there today as well, passed Kieran the FTOP organiser around CP1.
Felt good all round though, was like hitting the turbo switch when you came to more compact snow from trudging through the energy sapping deep stuff ^_^
11m/2000ft with me mate, bit slippy underfoot, but a nice sunny trot.
6m & 1000ft up the Wessenden Valley with a couple of runs up the Dam wall of Wessenden Head Res at the top. Skiddy with the ice and snow, but good!
15.5 miles on the icy roads around kilburn, coxwold, yearsley, amplethorpe, byland abbey, oldstead - beautiful :D
Getting bored with the icy stuff now so just 2.5 miles on local roads (literally for the most part due to pavement conditions:()
About 20 miles yesterday - long leg of the Bradfield Boundary run, followed by a nice run back over cut gate.
Cheers to Ian and Helen for the company on the way home (not sure if you're on here), and well done to all those who did the full 48 miles... I'll be there next year!
6.6 mile on the treadmill this morning at the DW Centre with the Tracey. Got to use my free 12 day pass. A good while since I have used the treadmill.
16 miles around the local streets and no it wasn't very exciting.
9 ish miles through calve depth snow from Middleton up to James' Hill and back - pure bliss if considerably slower than the norm.
Up on Pendle today, only did 1h30mins, got pegged back with the gale force blizzards up there!! Couldn't even see, needed Ski goggles!

50mins or so on tarmac. Hard work :(
About 10 miles today: Grindleford, along frogatt, curbar and baslow edges, back along white edge into a 25mph ish blizard.... I think bracing is the word for it! Still a good run though, always nice to get out in the poor weather and be out on the tops as close to alone as possible.
The Trans pennine trail has finailly defosted enough to run on it :D,Just ran from lymm to altrincham nice run i enjoyed it.
6 miles on the Tattenhall Border League road race route. First run since the winter BG 2 weeks ago. Went ok, but legs are still like lead and my knees are sore. Great to get out again, even on the roads!
A nice gentle run around then up and over the Wrekin . Great day for it . I even saw a couple of deer on the way around .
New Years Day - nearly gutted to see someone elses studmarks in the fresh snow ahead of me on Skiddaw - then chuffed to bits to see him coming down having been beaten back by the conditions before he got to the summit. Great fun running (walking actually) over the top of the gates/stiles, loads of spindrift, flat light, then as conditions improved a great test of microspikes on the descent!
10 miles round local tracks and paths and Cheesden Brook, only about 900' of climb but good fun never the less in the snow :D
6 miles, bit over 1000' climb, mostly on roads today. Was going to do a bigger run, but then it started snowing so I had another cup of tea, waited for the snow to stop and then went out later (I feel a bit of a wimp now!).
First run of the NY! a quick 5 and half around Ledbury woods and hills. Nice. Haven't run for about a week, had a bit of a Christmas break - put on half a stone so back to it now!!
Been up Whernside and Ingelborough today in the Snow, was amazing fun!! Sliding down the steep bit off Ingleborough in shorts was a bit chilly mind :)
13ml on South Downs Way from Butser Hill to Beacon Hill and back with Stef F. Glorious day but sadly no snow down here
5 miles on undulating roads in 31 minutes :D
Made it up onto Pendle from the Nick today. Took the mutts with me, yet another wave of snow has made it even deeper, and very tough, but enjoyable going off piste! :p
Met a few fellow runners just after CP6, then stopped in the shelter to share a Ginsters with the mutts, as they were suffering in the deep snow abit!
Managed to make it off in time before the snow got any heavier, looks like its coming in again!
2 hours dead on today.
1 hour of tough up and down stuff, running in ankle deep snow around the stunning winter wonderland of Castle Eden Dene, just North of Hartlepool :cool:
Testing the ankle after 5 weeks off. Run out 3 mile, through the woods to Roche Abbey and walk back. Everything OK....
Now to think about shedding those pounds :D

So another year, two moves of house and 3 jobs later, I'll try and log on here consistantly again
yesterday dropped off on way home from famly, 5 miles very snowy trail back to holmfirth, when the drifts were knee deep the dog was very giddy. Fun!
Today easy 3 trail with dog and partner, less snow, more slippy

I went round the Coiners Fell race course today. All the boggy bits were covered with ice and snow but I still managed to find them :D A few walkers out round Stoodley Pike but I didn't see any other runners. Probably got more sense than me.
Nice easy run in the local woods and up onto the edges of the moorland. about 5 miles, bit under 1000' of climbing, 42 minutes. Snow has made some of the paths round here much quicker than usual, just takes a bit of confidence that the usually slippy and boggy traverses are actually grippy (and the landing will be soft if they're not!)
A nicely paced 9 -10 miles. Absolutely pegged it up all hills and loved running fast on lactic legs! Don't know what got in to me today I only intended a quick 4 miler, but had so much energy I would have carried on all day if I had brought some food... Malvern hills were beautiful and conditions were slippery frozen snow, some patches were melting a bit in the sun but not too bad, made the Malverns feel a bit more like mountains which is always nice.
An easy hour's run from home - mostly on flat (:eek:) towpath, riverside path, nature reserve and playing fields. Last night's additional covering of snow made the previously icy sections a little more manageable:)
Monday-2 miles round mossley
Tuesday- 4-5 miles along to Greenfield and back over the canal with a few detours.
Wednesday- 3 miles round mossley with a couple of interval reps thrown in halfway
Thursday- Rest
Friday- Giants Tooth 3m/400ft
Saturday- Chew Valley reccy without doing any of the course. 5 miles 900ft.
Sunday- 2 miles ont road round Lydgate
Went out with a few people today,We started at peckforton on the sand stone trail and ran to delemere only 13 miles at nice relaxed pace.May not have been on fells but was a nice run though,stuning views to.I only manged to fall over twice.Once getting out of car another on a frozen mole hill and the fields were not lovely and soft more hard and sharp !
I've decided to start a bit of a training blog. If anyone is interested in that kind of thing i have put the link below. It will be a mix of running and mountain biking but mainly off road with the odd picture of the hills.

An absolutely stunning morning saw me up on the Stoop with a good bunch from over'til in Heptonstall (Thanks for your company, hope you found the Pennine Way) the sun/moonlight on the Snow drifts was suberb. Dont know how many miles but I was out for 3+ hours and enjoyed the snow:)
am. 5.5 miles on icey trail, easy run. 39.32
pm. 4 x 1k reps @ 5k pace (3.00), 3 mins recovery. Hit 3.00 four times :)
