12 miles this morning with 15 others from our club going from Sefton Park through Halewood and along the cheshire loop line to the Rocket. Then headed back to Garston Sports Centre via Childwall and Sefton Park. Nice run this morning.
First run out this year! :)
Osmotherley up onto Hambleton Hills but turned back as the snow was knee deep on the tops!
It was a beautiful sunny day and gorgeous views...even spotted a little deer.....only regret is not taking a camera!
6.2 miles/1469 ascent
last night was a blast, road 4 after work along snowy country lanes, never knew when the road ahead was gritted or icy, if snoy was soft or conpacted. Ah he joys of running in the dark. Great fun though, very refreshed afterwards

Just had my best fell run since I started fell running.
Felt absolutely fantastic, made mince meat of everything in front of me, rapid of the flat, rapid on the climbs, the lot :)
Continuous training works!
About 1h30mins running
Erm...just a bit
we have had settled snow now for nearly three weeks  and a perma-frost..minus 8 last night
should have invested in some Kahtoola's
still the longer distance lower level undulating trail stuff is giving me good early prep' for my up and coming event :D
Work in Leeds is closed, which is a good job as i wouldnt try to leave Holm sweet Holm.
Anyway meant i had a daylight run, 4 miles of snowy trail, 4-6 inches and still falling!!!!! Dog is goig to begin to expect this. How giddy am I?
:D

10k on mainly road sections as the pavements were too hard going in the snow (hopping onto the pavement when a car appeared ). Fortunately there was little traffic as the snow was drifting on the road higher up round the Owd Betts pub. The back leg was brilliant with some big drifts on an exposed section of Ashworth Road and I felt knackered by the time I had got through them :D.
45 minutes on a disused railway line, 3 – 4 inches of new snow on top of the packed ice from last week, very pleasant
14m/2618ft bloody hard going, but great going downhill, big thumbs up to New Balance mt840 trail shoes, grip like ell in the snow.
Took me about 30 mins longer than normal and feel suitably knackered now:cool:
Good stuff merry! :)
5ml/1000ft up and down Beamsley Beacon for me. Snow thigh deep in patches. Tough but memorable run out :D
5 miles from home - 90% off road by snow-light:).
New Roclite 312 Goretex shoes (less than half price:)) arrived today so gave them a run-out - excellent grip in the snow and on the more compacted towpath sections.
am. easy 6 miles in the snow, 44 mins
pm. 3 mile warm up, Border Harriers hill session, 2 mile warm down
Total: 14.5 miles
Short but sweet trot (run/walk) out in the snow tonight. First run in absolutely ages but the knackered knee and ankle held out perfectly. :)
The dog enjoyed it too - it's nice to have a running partner.
10 mile in the snow today. 5 mile at 10.00am and another 5 at 8pm tonight in even deeper snow on Pex Hill.
A nice 5 miler in the snow with the missus. Fast climb of about 350m, nice to run fast in the snow on descents almost stops my craving for other mountain sports...
no running now for 2 weeks, bad cold last week and snow playing havoc... yes i know it's only waist deep.. but after walking round in it for 6 hours the last thing i wish or want to do is run in the stuff..
Same as yesterday, very fast pace, 1hr30mins on the local fells.
5 miles around clayton vale great run as there was absolutely no one about haha ;)
No work today so a lovely run in the sunshine- no hills to speak of as I ran from home but an hour and half of pure fun. Had on metal studded O shoes and cruised along to the puzzlement of some walkers I passed. First run since pre Xmas as we have been away skiing. Great. Plesae can we have more snow so I can run again tomorrow, and Thurs, and Fri....
am. 9 miles: 2 mile easy, 7 mile moderate, 1 hour
'Rehab' of ankle started, so first post on this thread.
2 x 2.5 miles, to and from work with rucksack.
To work at 5:30 this a.m on pavement, thro snow.
Back from work 14:30. Left the roads straight away. Straight out, uphill & over the fields, leaving a single set of prints :D
can I play?
I did a nice 45 minute five mile easy run along the banks of the river Severn in fresh snow. It were lovely, especially seeing the cormorants on the other bank.
Si
3 mile warm up
5 x 1min 45secs effort up 'the Saucer' in ankle deep snow, off a jog back recovery. Awful under foot and hard on the chest with the cold air filling your lungs! Any sign of frost over the forthcoming days will surely lead to the counties being cancelled, as breaking your ankle would be so easy on frozen rutted ground!
2 mile cool down.
Missed KCAC pub run but managed to run from Bolton Bridge to the Strid and back with the headtorch this evening. Snow was lovely and the stars when I got to the Strid were amazing
Treaders for me this week as hubby is away. Oh and I'm not impressed that the gym have put little signs on the treadmills saying 'Please respect other gym members and do not use the treadmill for more than 20mins during busy times'!!!!!!!
Well excuse me but why do I pay my gym membership???
I only get to use the gym at a specific time when the creche is on!
I can't even do a 5k in that time :(
nice 4 mile run tonight along the country lanes on traffic free roads - lets have more snow please its fab..
8.3 miles/1100ft around local country park in the sner.
3 times round a local wood in the snow, in me new mudroc 290's (bit of chafing at the heel -bah!)- 30 minutes for five miles. A bit too quick for a 'threshold run' but I'm not running again while Sunday so wahey! :D
Nice core and stretching session last night before bed. Was hurting on the last set, but used Christopher Leigh's negative comments as motivation to push through...
Was out the door at 7.45am this morning for a nice 55 minute pre-breakfast run, in the beautiful snowy fields, as the sun came up! Then took my drugs (Vit.C) when I got back, as this is the only way to the top ;)
BMF both last two nights in the snow and sleet - it's great for keeping intensity up beyond what I'd do myself. Like a club speed session I suppose.
With the 25-min run at either end, it's a like a 110-minute endurance run, but with a speed session in the middle. 'Take two lots of training into the shower ... !?'
Hamstring knackered, predictably.
Just been round my 1hr30min route again. The colder it is, the better running is.
Fantastic.
